Hey everybody - David from Motion AI here… So excited to come out of stealth on Product Hunt today! We’re building Motion AI to help make Artificial Intelligence accessible for anyone to create and deploy... something we felt was missing from the current landscape. Think of it as the UI for AI. We like to say, if you can draw a flowchart, you can make Artificial Intelligence using Motion AI. We handle every layer of the process, from telecom to deep learning for “on-the-job” training of AI robots. Once you’ve created a robot with Motion AI, you’re provided with an SMS number, email, web chat… even a Facebook Messenger integration, so that your AI can be everywhere your users are. From automating customer service, to food ordering to healthcare… there are so many ways that we believe Artificial Intelligence will revolutionize technology in the coming months and years. End-users create AI on our platform by assembling a modular “storyboard” detailing how their robot should function. The individual modules that make up a storyboard are developer-extensible, which is where things get REAL interesting… For example, accepting payments is as simple as dragging a Stripe module into your storyboard. @joshdance @davidjnels Our mission is to present AI in such a way that you don't have to be super tech-savvy to use it. I'm sure it's safe to say our base will always be more tech-savvy than the average person - just by the very nature of people who are interested in Artificial Intelligence. As for the use cases - I'm hearing more and more great ideas with every person I talk to, so the possibilities are pretty endless... But some common themes so far are customer service, food ordering and healthcare-related applications. :)

@davidjnels for customer service does this basically let me setup a system for answering for top 10 faq for my business? Can it then forward to a real person if it doesn't know the answer?

@davidjnels Let's connect, it would be awesome to see an integration. Our API (typeform.io) allows us to bvuild typeforms on the fly, for conversational UI.

Interesting. Will you be able to tell the AI system it made mistakes so it can learn? If a customer says "No cheese" for the pizza it might add cheese. If the customer says "Extra Large" it might understand it incorrectly as "Large" and so on. Might be good to teach it how to validate responses too, for example, ensuring that the address provided is valid and within a given radius of your retail location.

@pdame 100%! There's an entire part of the service devoted to post-launch training and data. Analytics and reporting are a big part of this too. Great business intelligence aspect to AI - if 100 people asked a pizzeria AI for flatbread crust and are turned away, that's a good indicator that adding flatbread may be a good biz move. That kind of data may never make it to management if only a human took orders.

Would love to you know how complex the storyboard can be? We're trying to build a support system for educators in developing countries. At first, this can be simple but we see endless possibilities. Would this be a good use case?

@juliensteel In theory a storyboard can be as simple or as complex as you'd like. Something we're hard at work on is finding all the right modules to integrate with and help handle complex/large scenarios in the smallest and most efficient way possible. For example, in the customer service arena... using only the barebones of Motion AI with no fancy 3rd party modules or integrations, you could have somebody train your AI to individually handle all of your most common customer service scenarios (and have a pretty large storyboard as a result) ... this works well and is perfectly acceptable, but we're very actively investigating how we can integrate with services like Zendesk and knowledgebase / helpdesk SaaS companies to speed up this process and leverage the customer service data that companies have already compiled and worked hard on. In some of my early talks with folks wishing to use Motion AI for customer service, several people have expressed frustration with how often users' questions are already answered in a knowledgebase, but natural instinct is to go for that "Live Chat" button. I foresee many usecases where Motion AI would essentially sit in front of human-operated Live Chats to help lighten the load on customer service reps and filter out the easier, low-hanging-fruit stuff.
