Anyone having FOMO?

With Gemini and Grok launching and turmoil at OpenAI I’ve been wondering if and how I should increase my redundancy in AI. Anyone else?

I need to play around with Gemini. Hearing a lot of noise about it
All are best at what they are doing with different use cases. We should be smart enough to figure out the best for US!

hey bro, FOMI in the fast-paced world of AI is totally understandable. with the dynamic changes and launches, it's smart to think about redundancy and adaptability in your AI strategies. it's about staying flexible and keeping an eye on emerging trends. what approaches are you considering for increasing redundancy? any insights or plans you'd like to share?

For starters the Gemini launch video was a marketing video (not real). I would wait.

@kaushik_mukherjee1 Fair point. With OpenAI's turmoil and occasional outages, it might make sense to keep options open.

@collabing I would agree to have options open. As far as the outages are concerned they usually happen on platforms which get used more. So from an infrastructure learning standpoint open ai will be definitely ahead.

@kaushik_mukherjee1 though thinking about it I OpenAI has done a lot to build a moat around their company with ChatGPT and custom GPTs.

I think if what you're using now does what you need it to do, you really don't need to look elsewhere. Whatever nifty new feature or innovation a different platform has now will eventually spill over into the one you're currently using. I have no interest in exploring different options. I have spent time getting through the learning curve with Chat GPT, why make myself have to go through that again just because I don't want to miss out on a solution to a problem I don't currently have.

Depends on how closely your value proposition or IP is attached to the underlying AI. It is still very early days of AI and if possible it is best to abstract the AI so that you can switch later if need be. Hope that helps.

@rajeshkan72 that's a great point! But I don't know if I consider this the early days of AI. I was at a company 8 years ago, and we worked with AI/ML.
