CTA for the launch: "Join as a beta tester" or "Join the waitlist"?💡

Hello community! Yesterday I listened to a webinar about launching a new product. They didn't recommend launching a paid product as a beta version. Yesterday I received the same feedback for the Coming Soon page from a person in this community: https://www.producthunt.com/products/balibam My goal is actually that: find beta testers and some early adopters. Should I use a CTA on the website saying "Join as a beta tester" or "Join the waitlist"? Or just "Join"? What do you think?

We have a CTA on our website asking to join the waitlist. But that's simply because we don't have a Beta yet. Maybe once the beta version is ready for testing we'll change the CTA to "Join our beta" or smth like that.

@simona_o_neill3 Do you think that can create less interest?

@alessio_mavica It depends if you are personally inviting people to join or if they find your page themselves. If you are inviting people then you will be wording it what ever way you like, so it will make no difference what CTA is on your page. For example if you are sending a message to someone saying " hey, I'd love some help so wondering if you'd like to be one of the first people to test our beta ? If so, you can join in by following this link". But if you're hoping to attract beta testers and early adopters organically (ie without directly reaching out to them) then you may want to be more specific with your CTA.

@alessio_mavica I think the Coming Soon looks better now 👀 Regarding launching the paid product as the Beta version, yes it would be better to stress test the product by 10-15 users to make sure you have a decent product before launching it on PH. To be frank with you, "Beta" or not, it's just some marketing. Now, the way I'm doing it is having the private Beta (first product out) just for 10-15 free users to refine the product and then launching the public Beta with paid plans on PH and other platforms. (No need to highlight the fact that it's a beta version but it should be mentioned somewhere) To find free users is quite easy, post on subreddits, PH, relevant WhatsApp groups and more... You'll probably get 20 people in a day to try out your product. Best of luck!

@rayan_zeggari amazing insights! I will launch without "beta" but will be a free version. I did some beta testing with some "private" beta testers, as you mentioned. Fingers crossed. Thanks again Rayan!
