According to a questionnaire survey, on PopShort.AI, a tool that generates short films with one click, the most popular one is the anime style because of its original character creation and story telling. Second is the surreal style because it can be widely shared on Instagram. There are also cyberpunk and futuristic aesthetic styles for technology enthusiasts and science fiction fans. What other styles do you think will be popular?

AI-generated image and video styles currently trending include photorealistic portraits, fantasy and sci-fi themes, anime or cartoon-inspired visuals, and artistic styles emulating movements like Impressionism or Surrealism. For videos, deepfakes and AI-enhanced animations are popular, alongside AI-generated music videos with surreal visuals and dynamic, customizable backgrounds in platforms like YouTube Shorts.

AI-generated visuals are so cool right now. I saw a music video recently by a Polish singer, and the whole thing was done in a surreal AI style—it looked amazing.
For our product, AirportRegistry, we kept it simple and used AI to pull great photos from Unsplash instead of generating them. You think we should have done the opposite?
Photorealistic styles are definitely among the most popular when it comes to AI-generated images and videos. People love using text-to-image tools to create visuals that look incredibly real—whether it’s for marketing, product mockups, or just creative experimentation.

It’s fun to play around with and really shows off how far AI has come in creating photorealistic content!
I think some other styles that could get popular are retro or vintage looks, like '80s or '90s vibes, which are always nostalgic and cool. Minimalist design could also work well for sleek, modern videos, especially for things like explainers. Hand-drawn or sketch styles would stand out too, giving things a unique, artsy feel. And with more people focused on sustainability, nature-inspired themes with earthy tones could also catch on.
Cartoon avatars and exaggerated characters have become my go-to for social media and YouTube. They’re super playful, and they instantly make profiles stand out. I’ve noticed how they connect with people so easily, making them perfect for engaging content.
