Hello everyone 👋 We're very happy to finally launch the first beta version of Sava OS, after what felt like an eternity... but here we are at last :) 🤔 What is Sava OS? The beta version, as it stands, is practically a "browser manager." Since we're increasingly doing most of our work in a tab inside the web browser, like many others, we believe there has to be a better way for us to organize our work online. We’re taking a drastic approach by applying the same UI we’re all already familiar with and bringing that to the browser. There’s a reason the “desktop” UI has stuck around for half a century, but we want to take this to the next level. Ultimately, Sava OS will be more than just a typical desktop interface. If you’re interested in learning more, you can read our letter here: https://savaos.com/about 🚀 What can you do with Sava OS? Currently, Sava OS is great for managing your browsing sessions, tabs, and links. There are various ways for you to better organize your links. For example, we like to tag and stash random sites or useful tools we love in the library. This way, we don’t need to think about where to best save them. But for current projects, tasks, or research, we use desks and folders to stay organized and intuitively find what we need. Furthermore, you can collaborate and share entire desks and folders with others, take notes in text files, open YouTube videos directly in Sava OS, create embeds, follow your favorite news within feeds, and much more. 💸 Is it free? Yes! All current features that exist right now in Sava OS will always be free. If necessary, we might add limitations, but only to the point where it is still usable for the majority of our members. We plan to introduce more features, such as cloud storage management (Drive, Dropbox, etc.), which will likely be based on a subscription model. We would love for you to try it out, or just go over the main page and let us know what you think about the overall idea. Any feedback, thoughts, or ideas that you might have are very much welcome and highly appreciated! Let’s continue this discussion in the comments :) See you there 🙌 P.S. Congrats on the launch! Love the approach. Might finally help tame my chaotic research process :)

It’s a very interested tool, but it’s sad to see it has only been tested on Chrome. What about Firefox and Firefox-based browsers?
Owen Far
Hello @umberto_abbatantuono, thanks for checking it out :) It actually works just as fine on Firefox. The main reasons we say "Tested on Chrome" is because: 1) Currently the extension is only available for Chromium based browsers, and we think it's a crucial part of the application, and 2) A lot of early visitors thought it was an OS they have to download (even though we mention in the title).. that helped make things clearer for the time being. We will definitely be making it cross-browser, but for the MVP we thought to start with just Chrome.
Umberto
@owenfar thank you for letting me know. I am looking for a privacy-oriented solution, and even thought your product seems to meet my requirements, Google doesn’t. It will be interesting to try it out once it supports Firefox-based browsers.

Looks fancy...but why my 'Cmd T' shortcut was blocked after I installed savaOS extension?
Owen Far
Hello @roxas_fan, thanks for giving it a try! That shouldn't be the case, by default the shortcut should stay the same. Are you on mac & Chrome?
Brandon Fan
@owenfar Yes. The shortcut works fine now after reinstalling the extension, maybe just glitches of Chrome 👍🏻.
Owen Far
Great to hear that @roxas_fan! Thanks for letting us know. Do reach out with your thoughts or ideas if you have any :)
William Woods
This looks super helpful for managing all my browsers tabs and keeping everything organized.
Owen Far
Thanks @william_woods! Hope you find it as useful as we do at this stage :) There will be a lot of upgrades & improvements to make it even better in managing tabs & links. Do reach out with any ideas you might have.
