Hi everyone, After seeing the devastation caused by the fires in LA, I wanted to create something that could help people coordinate relief efforts more effectively. This web app is designed as a simple tool for the community. People who need help can post requests, specifying what they need, how many volunteers are required, and where they are. Requests are categorized (e.g., housing, medical assistance, transportation), making it easier for volunteers to find opportunities that match their skills or resources. Volunteers can search by location and category to offer help where it’s needed most. Although I built this in response to specific events like the fires in LA, the app is designed to work anywhere, at any time. Its functionality is based on location and general categories, making it versatile for a variety of situations where community support is needed. I don’t live in LA or know too many people there, so if you think this could help, please share it with those around you who might need it. Even if it helps just one person, I’ll consider it worth the effort. This is an open-source project, so if any UX/UI designers would like to join me in making it better, feel free to reach out.
