Alicorn is a cloud-agnostic platform for startups. AWS, GCP or Azure – with Alicorn your stack runs anywhere. Switch cloud providers in one click, escape vendor lock-in and never run out of free credits!
🤯 AWS, GCP and Azure offer startups plenty of free credits to get started. But when credits run out – you are stuck.
💡For a while it's been possible to build "portable" stacks that are easy to move across cloud providers. AWS, GCP and Azure nowadays are almost identical; they just don't want you to think this way. Docker, Kubernetes, functions, Redis, Postgres, Kafka, ElasticSearch – the building blocks are exactly the same. The problem is, it takes more work.
💥 Alicorn does the plumbing on AWS, GCP or Azure for you – so that your stack runs anywhere. This means you are no longer tied to your cloud provider!
✅ Escape vendor lock-in – switch cloud providers in one click
✅ Use free credits from all 3 major providers. This means 3 years free
✅ Deploy containers, webapps, functions, databases, storage, etc
✅ Get DevOps best practices out of the box, like Terraform and CI / CD
✅ Best in class hosted free tier with 8gb RAM - you can actually run production on it
Alicorn offers not one but 2 free plans:
• Start on our hosted PaaS similar to Vercel or Heroku, then move to AWS later
• Connect your AWS account right away
👉 To get started, simply connect your GitHub or GitLab repository at https://app.alicorncloud.io
Exploiting as many freebies as possible—awesome. By any chance did you use Terraform for this product? Also, do you have a customer retention plan for after the 3-year free credit time is up?
@ezzat yes we do - Terraform is generated automatically, and you can customise it or even write your own!
Retention is based on the convenience we provide - like with other platform-level tools moving away would mean significant increase of DevOps work, whereas Alicorn handles all that for you

Very cool! In looking at the docs, I was a bit confused how you all set up the K8s cluster. Understanding targets sends me to a [404](https://learn.digger.dev/overvie...) accessed from [here](https://learn.digger.dev/overvie...).
Also, how do you manage rollbacks? And, Is monitoring set up automatically? For instance, if I wanted to install datadog, how would I go about doing it? Lastly, what's the pricing for this? I might just be missing that on the homepage.
In spirit, this seems similar to https://porter.run/. Is that an apt comparison?
@scott_ames_messinger thank you so much for the feedback! Docs fixed now
We do rollbacks via CLI currently, in case of containers that's redeploying previous tags and for infra it's apply older version of TF
The baseline PaaS is free, and so is the starting plan to manage your AWS account. If you need more than 3 services or more than 1 environment, then $50 per user per month.
Yes we're in the same space as Porter. Similar to it are also Qovery, Zeet, Powertools, Atomized, Encore, RunX, Begin, Tinystacks and a bunch of others. All great tools. What we do differently however is that with Alicorn you are still getting a cloud-native setup as opposed to a "little Heroku" in your account that's a black box. With Alicorn you can change your Terraform however you like so it scales well from day 1 all the way up to teams of 100s engineers.
@bertie we can migrate you for free and with little to no distraction to your team - let's chat? i'm at igor@alicorncloud.io

Wow...this is just sexy .. the way the Build was executed ... It is going to be interesting. Having been in Enterprise sales in the past ... this is gonna have lots of love from Enterprises too ... @igorzij
@srama79 Thanks! And yes, enterprise is the destination - for now we are focusing on startups to be able to iterate faster, then will go upwards from there
@igorzij and @mohamed_habib1 this is just too good! Seamless switching from one platform to another. For many bootstrapped Makers, end of free credits is literally the death of the idea. You've literally made 3 lives possible. I'm sure Makers gonna love it :)
Thanks! We built it with exactly that in mind :) With Alicorn makers and startups can essentially have unlimited free credits, which we find quite convenient

Other than using the free credits - it is great to have the freedom to switch between Cloud providers! 🎉
