Amorus makes digital intimacy more private (encryption, deletion controls, emoji shortcuts), more engaged (embedded tools for consent/boundaries/etc), and more inspired (mini-games to flirt and uncover shared fantasies).
Hi! I’m Elizabeth, film producer turned Sextech entrepreneur and Founder of Amorus! (with @valllllera !) So how does a person decide to make a sexting app?!? 😈
When the pandemic struck, I was not sheltered in place with a partner - and it was HARD. I needed pleasure and romance and deliciousness, but I was having a tough time being my most creative and passionate self in an apocalypse.
So I went looking for ways to make remote intimacy easier, but everything I found was cheesy or sleazy or solo – nothing helped me get sexy with my partner. After a lot of frustration (yes that kind too!), I realized this was an opportunity 💡
Several months later, we're so excited to introduce Amorus – the intimacy app for partners. 🥳😻 Amorus is a secure and sex-positive place for delicious fun with your person (we call them Flames 🔥).
Like Headspace improves meditation or Strava upskills your bike ride, Amorus embeds best practices in your sexy fun. From specialized emoji responses to agreements around consent, Amorus has tools you need, when you need them!
And there are GAMES! 🃏🎲
Send your Flame a photo as a blurred JIGSAW🧩. When they solve the puzzle, they get your pic – they just gotta work for it!
Let CHAT SPARKS💥 start your next sexy convo with questions like “What was your favorite fantasy at 20?” and “What’s the deepest underground you’ve ever had sex?”
Uncover shared desires with FANTASY SWIPE. Swipe yes✅ / ❌no on fantasy tiles, your Flame does the same, and your matches are shared with a chat prompt – revealing what you BOTH want.
We are really proud to share Amorus with the Product Hunt Community (many, many thanks to @Kevin for hunting us!). We’d love you to download the app and invite a Flame🔥 to chat and play! Feedback and questions and ideas all welcome.
@valllllera@kevin@amorus This is a fascinating idea. While it will be fun for the young ‘uns, am sure those us who’re older and in long-long-long-term committed relationships might be users, too. I wanted to take a look and try it with my wonderful bride of 22 years (all in the name of “research,” of course). Was surprised to see it’s Android only. Normally apps like this have the opposite situ - launching as iOS only. I’m sure you’re working on an iOS version (happy to be beta testers). Good luck!
@chrismessina Thanks for the comment! We love Coral - they are amazing for partners looking to understand their intimacy better. But they don't embed INTO the actual sexy time (sexting!). Coral is an amazing platform to learn about better intimacy. Amorus is where you can DO the intimacy and uncover fantasies, talk about them, share pictures, etc.
I see Amorus as a great partner to Coral and the other sexual exploration/education apps (Ferly, Lover, emjoy, Paired).
@chrismessina Thank you for sharing!! These look great and I love to see more activities integrated into the experience!

Pros:
An approachable and effective tool for sexting.
Cons:
Requires someone(s) to sext with.
@samy_zerrouki Thank you! So glad you're getting such powerful use of the app

This is a great product that I've privileged to hear about since its early days.
It sits at the intersection of so many important trends today: privacy; personal connection and intimacy; digitalization; and consent. It's hard to imagine anything would be more timely for the current moment. It's also a great, fun, well-designed product.
@nick_benedict This is it. Privacy + connection + digitalization + consent but also pleasure + confidence + inclusiveness + delicious sex-positive fun!

I’ve been using amorus as a teaching tool in my work with couples and individuals. It’s been very helpful towards getting them feeling safe and comfortable with sexting communication. Feels really contained and we all like how it’s a separate experience than regular messaging, makes the body quiver when the notification alerts:) I’ve recommended it to some friends as well and they’ve been enjoying the games and the ability to make things disappear from the user’s side. Highly recommend!
