Started on this project when I was trying to set up a password manager for my wife so that she don't have to remember all her 16-character passwords. Encountered the same problem while setting up a ecomm store for my retired in-laws. In both situations, I just wanted to deploy some images from docker registry, give them the URLs and passwords, and forget about it. I just couldn't find an easy solution, so I built one. I call it Appdoh, so it sounds like play-doh. With this, I can build projects at will, deploy some backend services on Appdoh, connect them together and have it running in no time. I no longer have to deal with finding servers, domain names, disk space, memory, configuration settings, etc. Hope you will find it useful too.

@james_ma1 that's a very interesting concept. making existing open source tools much more accessible sounds like a great initiative

This is actually pretty awesome! I'm not a coder myself, but as a marketer I get super excited to try a lot of open source tools. However because of the deployment challenges, it ends up taking too much time. You've really got something here man. Looking forward to more integrations.

I've been saying for a while that this sort of service (a simplistic, no-hassle service that'll let people run self-hosted apps without having to worry about server stuff) would do well and it's good to see one come to market. However, I do have some points of critique that I hope you take into consideration, as having clicked onto the site and browsed it, these things immediately jumped out at me: - The design of the page needs some serious work. For example, on the "marketplace" page (/apps) things look aligned until you get about halfway down the page and then it just gets all crazy. It looks messy. Also there's several things which seem to use the same "bitnami by vmware" icon, even when it makes no sense. - You should really consider hiring a designer or just someone to help you spruce up the page. The font face on the logo (impact) is...yikes. The color choices of the icons (off-white/light grey) on a white background page...my eyes hurt. The aforementioned alignment issues are made even worse with the lack of consistency with the app icons themselves, some of them are properly centered and sized and look uniform. Some of them are weirdly cut out in a circle shape, some of them should be transparent but they have a weird color in the background. Take the time to make them uniform, it'll be worth it. Also you should be listing the stuff in the marketplace either alphabetically or (since it seems like what is available right now is somewhat limited) you should at least list things in a way that isn't putting "hello world" in the top few choices, I'm not sure what person that is meant to appeal to. - There's no "pricing" page, is this entire service meant to be free? Forever? No limitations? How is this company going to make money? There's no "about us" page or anything like that, no information on the servers that you're using or where thing will be hosted, there's no support page or knowledge base. This site looks and feels half-baked and doesn't seem like it's ready to be publicly launched yet, to be honest. You should try to flesh the page out with more information since right now what you have is incredibly slim and it doesn't inspire much confidence. - Again, not to nitpick too much on the design, but that logo needs to go and fix the "Register," or (login button) part at the top of the page. The comma is unnecessary and weird. No need to put the "or" there either. I would strongly recommend hiring a designer, even a very cheap one, to work with you on this. I hope you are able to find this feedback helpful, I think if you get these things worked out and give more information on exactly what kind of business model this is designed to have (pricing to be per-app, by 'credits' used that relate to resource usage, etc. ?) this could do well because the demand for such as service is definitely there. I will note, that I haven't tried out the actual service component itself - there may be more things in that regard that need consideration, I just don't have the time at the moment.

@mrdntlxla Very useful!! Agree on all the points you've mentioned. This really hits home that delivering the best UIUX experience to our users should be our utmost priority!
