I'm Mikkel Steen co-founder of the new crowdfunding platform for art - Artstarter.
The team and I are incredibly excited to be on PH today.
We want to make art available to everyone!
We created, what we think is, an amazing platform where people can preorder limited edition artworks from some of the best artists in the world and I think we already have a nice line-up! :D
Please check it out and we are open to all of your feedback :)

Hey Mikkel, this is awesome! Just signed up for the Hornsleth contest.
It took me about a minute to find out what it was all about. I highly recommend you to state more clearly "above the fold", what you do and what's the benefit. You'll lose lots of people if they have to see the About or FAQ page. I actually find it quite fun, that the most frequently asked question is: "What is Artstarter" ..
I would go for something like:
A crowdfunding-platform for art
Buy limited edition art from selected international artists
Best of luck from a Danish art lover.

What kind of stack are you running?
@doefler Thanks a lot for the feedback! :) Yeah! I'm totally in love with what we got going on the checkout too :)
Actually we tried out a couple of new things for this project - so this time we're running on a MERN stack, which means MongoDB, Express.js, React.js & Node.js. We're interfacing with the MongoDB through mongoose which is really awesome to work with - I recommend it :D

What are you using for payment processing?
@doefler It's definitely recommendable and really cool to work with, when you get started :)
Actually we decided to go with Stripe for our payment processing - which is almost one of the best decisions of the whole project since it's really easy to work with and has powerful capabilities :D

Do you track down the artists or are they applying to start a campaign themselves?
@mastergaard Actually it has been a mix. We've used our network from the Artboost project to find amazing artists, which we could make special deals with to make their art affordable for the masses :)
But cool artist are also starting to reach out and I promise that it's also the top of the iceberg we're showing right now ;)

A: Actually we try to make it as easy as possible for the artist that we collaborate with. That means that we handle marketing, production, customer relationship and distribution, so the artists can focus on doing what they do best, which is creative awesome art that will inspire the world to do better :D
