Authmoji was the product of a quick hackathon. Adding two factor authentication is still not common place with many apps across the web and we wanted to make it a bit more approachable and friendly than the generic numbers other services spit out. While there may not be as many permutations as number variations, authmoji is great for light apps that need a bit of security or as a delighter for phone number verification. Thanks for checking our project out!

@graeme_fulton thanks, I agree! We have plenty of ideas to make it even more fun for specific use cases. For example, a restaurant reservation app could create a custom emoji set, so all of their Authmoji sequences would be food emojis.

Just tried the demo on my iPhone. With usual digital codes the iPhone can suggest the code received in the text message when opening the keyboard. With emojis it doesn’t. This I needed to go back and force between Message and Safari. Every time I came back on safari the keyboard poped up and moved the buttons. It ended with too many failing attempts as I miss clicked every time on submit instead of the emoji.

Oh trying again and I saw the prefill!!! Nice 👍🏻one emoji was still missing though.

@benjamin_grandfond2 we popup the keyboard to trigger the iOS pre-fill, but I've noticed iOS is a bit slow to find the code sometimes. Pre-fill definitely makes the experience easier, but perhaps we should close the keyboard (and don't open it again) if you start manually selecting emojis? 🤔
