Backflip is the best way to sell your electronic devices. Just drop them off or schedule a pickup – it’s easy and free! We have you covered for smartphones, tablets, game consoles & more. The best part? No shipping box or label is needed!
Hello! I’m Adam, the CTO of Backflip.
My co-founder and I stumbled on the idea behind Backflip when moving between apartments.
❓ Why we built it:
We thought “Why can’t we find someone to just buy all our electronics and take them off our hands today? We should be able to sell them in a matter of minutes by just taking a picture on our phones.”
✅ How it works:
Backflip is the first step towards realizing this vision.
Now with Backflip.com, you can just bring your electronics to The UPS Store to sell, and no box or shipping label is required. Or UPS will simply come pick it up from your home – and all for free.
The name "Backflip” signifies the joy, excitement, and celebration that comes with so easily turning that old box of electronics into usable cash.
By "flipping their devices back" into the circular economy, anyone can help reduce e-waste and make electronics more accessible -- all while organizing their belongings and gaining extra spending power to pursue their goals.
👉 How you can get started:
Simply go to our website, select your device, describe the conditions and get a quote.
Please share feedback, questions, & comment! Excited to hear from you!
?makers Nice work! I've built a so called Asset Valuation Tool that estimates the wholesale price for any given hardware configurataion (lagptops, phones etc.) based on the same type of info you guys use.
@adam_foosaner1 I believe in this space! Keep on keep in’ on :)

I just went through this process with Apple. I was going to send them an old computer, and then I realized that they used an outside vendor, which I absolutely do not trust the way I trust Apple. How do you deal with privacy issues?
Privacy is of the utmost importance to us at Backflip, as it is essential to a safe and secure selling experience. Here are a few of the things that we offer in order to help keep your data safe:
- We provide detailed instructions for wiping your devices before sending them in. If you still need help, our support team is available at support@backflip.com Monday-Saturday to help walk you through the steps!
- We use industry-leading software to ensure that every device is factory reset before sending them to our network of buyers.
- In the rare event that we are unable to completely erase a device, we will contact the original owner and work with them to wipe the device, or send it back free of charge.
- Even in the absence of the above, it's almost impossible to break into an Apple device unless it's missing a lock code or password!
Thanks again for your question and we hope this helps!

No better than swappa. Limited to what you can sell. Would not let me list a macbook older than 2015. Most people have older electronics in the so called drawer they claim they want to help you clear. Stick to ebay.

@reynard_p_baillou I would agree with you. While this is great for newer electronics, it's a dud for some of the older things. I have a MacBook Pro from 2013 and they told me to recycle it 😑

1. really no camera gear? i would of thought camera gear like lenses and bodies would be a very safe bet/deal. glass is normally very well taken care of and in basically timeless, they are also very easy to sell on the 2nd hand market.. bodies are high turnover but again very easy to move volumes..
2. your not in Australia yet :( boo !

Can't wait to use this for my next phone upgrade! I love the idea of frictionless monetization of things that might otherwise end up in a landfill.
