Haha “why not?” Love it! Does it impact performance in any way? I have a ton of menu bar apps running at all times and am hesitant of adding one more — considering it doesn’t do anything ^-^'
@anna_0x It shouldn’t impact performance in any way! And you can confirm that for yourself in Activity Monitor. (I mean, how ironic would it be if a battery indicator wrecked your performance, right? 🙈)

@neilsardesai nice! I installed it, think it’s quite cute ^-^ Sad there’s no way to display the battery percentage in the menu bar as well though… Having to click the icon to see it get tiring when you want to do it 100 times a day :P
@sleegal To quit the app, you can either right click on the icon, then click Quit. Or hold down the command key and drag the icon out of your menu bar.

Technical question, how do you handle the updates via "Check for Updates..."? Is that through some SaaS service or Apple first-party thing?

Gyaaahh he's so cute! Do I have to fire up the app every time I restart? Can I get it to replace the original battery indicator? Sorry I've only had a Mac for a little over a month, and it hasn't stuck me as being super-moddable (battery buddy is the first cosmetic change I've made; it still has the default wallpaper!)
@rob_chap Yes, you can replace the original battery indicator! To make Battery Buddy automatically open at login, make sure the app is in the Applications folder. To remove the default battery indicator from the menu bar, go to System Preferences > Battery > Battery > and uncheck “Show battery status in menu bar”
I say "why not?". When my battery goes to red or yellow, I aways get a bit stressed. why not take the edge off ;)

Cool app. Please add percents and face animation, when it decreasing really fast (you should write a script for it, I could help if you contact me). If it's too small to render face, you can add a little glow and change the face position. Also, you can add X _ X face when it's 1% (I got this on my MacBook 16 sometimes, it's a known bug on Big Sur)
