Like many of you, I've always found tracking shared expenses – whether with housemates, on trips, planning events, or just between friends – to be a persistent headache. Remembering who paid for what, calculating balances, and actually getting settled up can strain relationships and just adds unnecessary friction. 🤯 I built BillSplit because I felt existing solutions were often overly complex, lacked flexibility, or just didn't quite nail the simplicity I was looking for. My goal was to create a straightforward, reliable tool to manage shared finances easily and transparently. What does BillSplit do? Effortless Group Creation: Set up groups for trips, households, projects, or anything else in seconds. Simple Expense Tracking: Log who paid and how expenses should be split (we handle various split types!). Clear Balances: Instantly see who owes whom within groups and between individual friends. Easy Settlement: (Mention how settlement works - e.g., simplifies calculations, integrates with payment methods?, etc.) For the tech enthusiasts here, BillSplit is powered by a Go backend and MongoDB, and frontend mobile app is developed in React Native. 😉 This is our launch version, and I'm incredibly keen to hear your thoughts and feedback.
