I appreciate the inclusion of a new UI to browse channels & apps + the remote control so we're not forced to have to use our phone the whole time.

@nic_acton Would have liked to stay with Chromecast long ago, and would have if they'd done something like that, but now I'm 1/2 Amazon.

The individual streaming apps generally have the best UX and most up to date interfaces. I chose Chromecast as the streaming device in my house exactly for this purpose. I hope they continue selling a SKU with no remote/microphone, or allow me to just throw the mic in the trash, and use it like a normal Chromecast.
