Mock server without installation and without configuration

Coparrot is a web service that will return a response with data you specified. It's a mock server that you can use during development or testing without installing anything and without writing any configuration file.

Hello everyone, Coparrot is something I wish existed but never found. After developing mobile and web apps for more than 10 years, I got tired of installing and setting up a mock server or even the real server needed by my apps. I just want to focus on the UI/X of the app. I realized that when I developed a screen of a mobile app or a page of a web app, I already knew what kind of data I needed for that screen or page. In other words, I already know the shape of the response I needed from the server. So I thought, what if I could just send the response data along with the request to the mock server. And the mock server will simply return the response. And that's the idea of Coparrot. No need to install anything. No need to create configuration file or some kind of rules. Just use the Coparrot's base URL and specify the response data in a certain query string or HTTP header key. There are more features in Coparrot. I hope you all find it useful as I do. Looking forward your feedbacks!

Nice! I'll send this to my designers right away! Thanks a lot!

@bogomep I didn't think of targeting designers, thanks for insight!

@daniel_leal I'm still adding some new features, but if Coparrot lacks a feature you need, let me know!

This is interesting because mock APIs are a problem and the story is not solved properly. I'm not sure if I understand the product from the docs and the landing. Maybe you can update it on what you need me to enter/do? I understand what's going on from the return but the setup/configuration is not very clear so my understanding of the features breaks down.

@shawn_mclean thanks for the feedback! simplifying the landing page so that people understand it better is in my plan. To put it simply, if your app connects to an API server, all you have to do is to change the API URL in your app to use.coparrot.dev, then set the response you want to mock either in the __cp_response or in the header X-CP-RESPONSE. If you have time and interested, we could arrange a call and I could show you a short demo :)
