Ahoy Hunters & Makers! I’m Brandon, Captain of Crewship and I welcome you all A’Board! Let me ask everyone a question: “What are you looking forward to?” A simple question, but one that is asked over and over again, anywhere from friends wondering what you’re up to this weekend, all the way to trying to talk someone out of jumping off a bridge. You see, the future is so unclear it is of great interest to get even a small glimpse. Hope and fear both live in that unknown abyss. We developed Crewship to try and answer this question, for ourselves and for our close friends and family. 😊 Wouldn’t it be incredible if we can have a looking glass that peers into the future to see what people are up to next week? Next month and next year? “Hey look at Claire, she’s playing golf Saturday, is doing a tech-cleanse next month, plans to visit Tibet next year!” 😊 Wouldn’t it be interesting to see what your friends might be interested in? “I didn’t know Larry wanted to try kite surfing, learn guitar, heli-ski!” 😊 How great would that feeling be to not have to ask, but they tell you in advance so you can join in, help them, offer advice/suggestions and support their plans and goals? Social networks are good at a couple things: 1) connecting people online and 2) showing you their filtered past. We created Crewship to do the opposite: 1) Connect people IRL and 2) show you their hopeful future! We’ve been working over a year on this idea: to take away the friction of getting friends together for simple hangouts & activities. Think about it, just making a plan for going to the beach, mountains, happy hour or bbq is so stressful! Who coordinates, who’s free, what’s the best plan, who brings what? Group texts are confusing and can go overboard in all directions! We occupy the space between a quick text with a buddy and formal events with many people outside your circle. The world is opening up again! What are you looking forward to next weekend? Next month? Next year!! Post it now and see how many in your Crew want to participate! We hope Crewship makes your life easier & gets you together with your closest crews more often! Social networks can actually be productive & have substance! Does everybody need an account? What's the onboarding process like for people that haven't used it before?

Great concept. I'm trying out the app.. how can I create different profiles for different friends when I create hangouts?

?makers does this keep a tally of spend? Currently me and my friends use Whatsapp for messaging + Splittable to track expenses between the group. It would be great to consolidate both into one place!

Good product, on the right way to make something even if there are already alternatives since a while. How do you plan to manage the user data and all the sensible connections you're going to receive as consequence of the daily use?
