Today, we're introducing Demigod, our behavior change company. We’ve learnt some things that we want to share with the community today.
If you want to be superhuman or extraordinary in life, you must be deadly serious. Along your journey, you will likely pursue how-to guides or algorithms to guarantee yourself the outsized financial, artistic, or athletic outcome you desire, but ultimately you’ll learn that most of these prescriptions are limited in how far they can take you. But you don’t want six pack abs that disappear within 6 months or a $1MM “business” that can collapse in a moment. You want to be the kind of person who always gets these things. How do you be that kind of person? Well, that kind of person is deadly serious. You would construct your day-to-day environment savagely and surgically. You would seek and implement systems that bias your behavior toward action rather than simply consuming prescriptions and waiting.
Demigod is a system of change. A comment regarding our human coaches: we do not "coach" you prescriptively or offer you some "secret piece of information" during the calls to make you superhuman. Only you know your goal, your destination. Our coaching calls consist of two parts: reflection and planning. The calls are designed to allow you to reflect and correct. Remember, our coaches do not arbiter what behavior is "correct."
You decide what you want to achieve this week in order to take you closer to your long-term goals. Your coach will write down your planned tasks and habits for the week. On the following call, your coach will check in to see if you made the progress you planned, then help you to disentangle obstacles or underlying setbacks during your week, and finally write down your planned items for the following week.
