👋 Hi Product Hunt! I’m Emma Bates, the co-founder of Diem. We built Diem because we felt that the way people interact on the internet is not reflective of how we interact in real life (‘we’ being women and non-binary folk). Our goal with Diem is to create the ultimate knowledge-sharing platform, challenging the status quo of performative sharing that exists on social media today. In Diem, wisdom is like currency and we like to think of every person's unique experience as a well of knowledge that someone else can learn from. ⚖️ Ultimately, our mission is to give women and non-binary people open access to all of that expertise because knowledge = power. Why is this important? Inequalities between men and women are one of the most persistent patterns in the distribution of power across the structures that shape our physical and digital worlds. This is why women earn 82 cents for every dollar a man earns in the U.S. This is why less than 40 percent of countries offer girls and boys equal access to education. This is why women weren’t included in medical trials until 1993. So exciting to see Diem come to life! Given the current climate, we desperately need new alternatives to social media that are more of a positive force in our day-to-day lives. Knowledge-sharing makes so much sense when it comes to online social spaces, and I can't wait to see how Diem grows from here.

Absolutely love Diem. I've never felt so much a part of a genuine community like I do on Diem. The knowledge I gain, the conversations had, and everything in between, it's just hard to replicate this experience. Hope the product hunt community embraces this.
