Hey@gabe , I checked and it appears to be more like a Google Drive integration.
@gabeΒ @adam_labΒ Hey Adam, maker of Droppable here.
Droppable integrates with your Gdrive intentionally - you can use the storage you have, save costs, and have more storage with Google One compared to WeTransfer or other alternatives. Recipients never interact with GDrive, so the experience is pretty seamless :)

@gabeΒ Years ago, I actually built Ziggs.io to solve a similar issue, it's free, no compression, you can send files up to 500MB per file, no account needed and conversations and files never retained. I built it to move files between my devices seamlessly while coding.

@adam_labΒ I actually was thinking of building something similar which is how I stumbled across Droppable.

@gabeΒ wow, if you'd like to have the source code, I can open source it :)
@gabeΒ thanks for hunting Gabe! π
Hey hunters!
Roman here β maker of Droppable.
The idea behind Droppable is simple: an alternative to tools like WeTransfer or Dropbox Transfer, but more convenient, efficient, and joyful to use.
Droppable is built for creatives who need to send large files with just a couple of clicks, straight from their desktop. Itβs natively designed for macOS and deeply integrated into the system.
It pulls in your contact lists and organizes transfers into threads, just like a messenger, making repeat sending even faster and easier.
Droppable also integrates with your Google Drive, letting you send larger files using the storage you already have. That means fewer subscriptions and lower costs compared to other solutions. Your recipients receive a secure download link via email - never direct access to your Drive.
Select your contacts, set an expiry date, add a note, and hit send.
Small, unobstructive, efficient and joyful. There when you need it.
I'd greatly appreciate it if you gave it a try and shared your feedback with me! Some updates like activity tracking and notifications are in the works, but Iβd love to hear what else youβd like to see added.
I personally used wormhole app for basic file sharing. I am curious who is ideal customer for such product/service?

@nihal_pathanΒ I used to use @Wormhole, but I like the ability to make quick shortcuts and share them without needing to open up a browser tab, but good question though!
@nihal_pathanΒ Droppable is designed for creatives who send files repetitively. You can image that a video editor, for example, often has some back and forth with clients, even at the final stages.
There're many other tools that just let you send stuff like Wormhole. Droppable, on the other hand, behaves more like a messenger app for your files. On top of that, it's a native macOS app, which is another unique factor.
Thanks for your question!
Wait this is awesome, are you competing against WeTransfer atm as that's what typically I would say is my go-to when it comes to transferring large files etc. although this seems infinitely more streamlined which is what I'm always looking to do when I send my files!!
Best of luck w/ the launch today!!
@cranqnowΒ hey Sam, exactly! It started with a thought: "What if WeTransfer wasn't relying on advertising this much and instead built a native macOS app" :D
It's currently still in v1, but many cool features are in the pipeline and will be worked on soon. So please feel free to give it a shot and let me know how you like it and what's missing for you :)
@romateslaΒ Will be sure to Roman!

I've been using Droppable since its release 1 or 2 years ago and it's such a smooth experience. I love that it's a one-time payment and I can use the Google Drive space that I'm already paying for. Congrats on the launch @romatesla!
@mackseranerΒ Thanks so much for being a long-time user and for the kind words :)

Oh you hit my problem very well:) wish it would work with Yandex disk, would buy it today.
@katya_prusakovaΒ happy to hear! Looking into adding more storage options in the near future :)
