André Aquilina
Hey Product Hunters! 👋 I'm André, and I'm excited to introduce you to Emberist – a tool I designed around my own process of financial planning which I started during the pandemic. Managing personal wealth shouldn't be rocket science. I'd like it to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their knowledge or inclination. That's why I created Emberist to simplify: • Financial goal setting and tracking 🎯 • Visualizing your path to financial independence 📊 • Effortless net worth monitoring 💰 • Making data-driven financial decisions 🧠 No complex spreadsheets or finance degree required. We're thrilled that our users are already tracking over €3M in assets. We'd love for you to join them and share your thoughts. Try our financial goal planning (no credit card needed) and there's also a 45-day free trial waiting for you. Looking forward to your feedback!

@andre_aquilina Emberist looks great! How does it integrate with other financial services for real-time tracking? Curious how it handles syncing data across platforms
André Aquilina
@tonyabracadabra Thanks for checking Emberist out! At the moment I have intentionally avoided connecting external financial services for two reasons. I believe that personal finance is both about finance and psychology. Keeping your financials up to date on a monthly basis means you're in touch with your finances more acutely. Manually entering your accounts doesn't require much effort (I do mine in 5 mins or less and I have about 12 different accounts). Additionally, I want people to feel comfortable to use it without having to worry about the security of their accounts. However, I'm keeping track of this feature and may offer it optionally in the future.

I've got to say, the 'grow your wealth with ease' did manage to hook me in, although I stayed for the clean look & the interfaces - When I begin to deploy my own capital - I reckon you might find me here :))

Congrats on the Launch, @andre_aquilina! Curious how you plan to differentiate yourself from the large financial institutions who are trying to integrate a lot of this functionality into their increased focus on going digital? I like the idea of moving away from the distractions and other offers that are presented in their systems, but I am curious for your thoughts.
André Aquilina
@brandon_palin Thanks! It's definitely competitive out there but I think we differentiate in a couple of ways: - We're not a budgeting app, our goal is to help users with personal finance on a longer timeline than their monthly bills. - I believe personal finance is as much psychology as it is finance. We want to help people get into the right personal finance habits. Knowing how much is in your account is only part of that equation and we provide tools to help with emergency fund building, debt payoff, mini goals and financial independence. I hope a user who is currently in debt or living paycheck to paycheck will be able to get started on Emberist and know the steps they need to take to change their financial situation.

Congrats on the launch! I planned to create a similar app myself, but it didn’t work out. Anyway, a few of my old ideas might still be useful: – Try to input data using a voice interface. A quick chat with LLM will be more enjoyable than reading texts and entering numbers. Also, you can easily fetch quite complex data this way. – Paradoxically, in many cases, a brief test-written insight is easier to understand than a table or even diagrams (for non-tech and non-financial people). Reading charts requires some skill, while a short, simple-written text anybody will understand. – None of the existing apps show spending patterns, track habits, or consider users’ geographical location (while it’s doable using LLMs). Spending patterns identification is an especially exciting function because it might find things a user had no idea about. – People are really, really bad in risk evaluation. The app could highlight the consequences of losing a job, changing home rent or gas prices, having risky investments, etc. This knowledge could drastically improve people’s lives. And I love how you merged registration, onboarding, and payment processes.
