Send private and secure notes

Enclosed is an opensource minimalistic web application designed for sending private and secure notes. All notes are end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that the server and storage have zero knowledge of the content. Users can set a password, define an expiration period (TTL), and choose to have the note self-destruct after being read.

I really like this, are the notes really private and deleted when someone sees it fr or you see everything on your end? This could be really useful. If you can show me proof you cant see it, this is good.

Hi @maxcompe Thank you for the interest and your thoughtful question! Yes, Enclosed truly prioritizes privacy and security. Here’s a breakdown of how we ensure no one, including us, can view your notes: - End-to-End Encryption: Notes are encrypted on your device before they’re ever sent to our servers. We use AES-GCM with a key derived on the client side. This means only the sender and receiver (with the right link and password, if set) can decrypt and view the note. - Zero Knowledge: Our servers store only the encrypted data. The decryption key is never sent to the server. Instead, it’s embedded in the URL’s hash fragment, which is only processed on the client side and never reaches our backend. - Self-Destruction: If you set a note to self-destruct after being read, it will be automatically deleted from our servers upon viewing. This is handled server-side without any way for us to retrieve the note post-deletion. For additional peace of mind, the project is open source on GitHub, so you or any developer can review the code and verify the encryption and deletion mechanisms. Feel free to explore the code and even self-host your own instance if you'd like full control over your data!
