Looks awesome! Which APIs do you use for things like dictionary / thesaurus / FX rates? Love the giphy foward/backwards - I definitely spend too much time finding the perfect gif!
Seb Sidbury
@ebellyeah Thanks for the feedback Etienne, we know what you mean about the gifs! We use class-leading APIs from reputable sources in each field, so for example the dictionary and thesaurus data is coming from Merriam-Webster and the FX rates are from the European Central Bank.

Hello Product Hunt community! Our new Slack App, Everyday Toolkit, was born from our company's internal hackathon earlier this year. As enthusiastic Slack users, we found ourselves often switching out of Slack for basic everyday tasks which we felt should be feasible natively in Slack. Want to check the meaning of a word in the chat? Can't remember what time it is for your colleague across the world? Need to share a Google image with the channel? Want to convert a currency or metric? All these basic tasks require you to switch away from Slack, complete the task, then switch back. So we built a bundle of 12 micro-apps to let you switch less and do more in Slack. According to research from Slack, most of us waste over 30 minutes every day switching between apps. We built Everyday Toolkit to help bring that number down.  We were overwhelmed with the success of the concept as colleagues throughout our company started using it, regardless of their role or department. So we decided to polish it up, and offer it as a product to the wider community. Everyday Toolkit was born. We're planning to add many more apps and we'd love to hear your thoughts. What other tools would you love to see next? As a thank you for your feedback, we're extending the usual 2-week free trial until the end of 2020 for the Product Hunt community. Simply fill in the following form so we can extend your trial: http://bit.ly/EDTforProductHunt Big thanks! 🙏 Here's the full list of tools: 🔎 Find • Google Image Search – find and share images • Stock Image Search – find and share royalty-free images • Dictionary – saves time opening the hard copy • Thesaurus – quick synonyms to improve your turn of phrase 🧮 Calculate • World Time – check what time it is for your colleagues across the world • Metrics – convert distance, time, weights, volumes and more • Currency – from one currency to another with the latest FX rates • Percentage Calculator – some welcome help for those a little rusty with percentages • Word & Character Count – helps with those character-limited fields ⚙️ Generate • Secure Password Generator – ultra-secure passwords in just a click • Random Number/Word Generator – completely random, or define a range • Placeholder Text Generator – see how your documents will look with copy ‼️ Bonus Tools • Find and share GIFs, stickers and animated text from Giphy, but with a Next and Previous button to cycle through results before you share! 😊

The search results in tool-gif are obscure, don't match the keyword terms, and don't match that of /giphy even remotely. Why? I typed "is it friday yet" and got nothing but results from the Set It Off movie. searched same phrase under /giphy and got results I could actually use.

@amber_hobbs Hi Sage, thanks for checking out the app and for your feedback, much appreciated! I can assure you that we are using the official Giphy API for all our gif tool searches. We return a range of results from that API using your search term and allow for quick and easy iterating among them via the next/previous buttons. I recreated the scenario you described and was still able to find a lot of what the giphy tool returns as well while cycling through the results.
