Explain the Valley

👋 Hello Product Hunt! 😉 Today we’re excited to launch Explain the Valley, a video job board where companies record videos and job seekers get hired. 🎉 We (a current senior & new grad) started Explain the Valley out of frustration with today's recruiting. Human interactions can only be experienced at career fairs or networking events, which are inaccessible, difficult to schedule, limited in capacity, and infrequent. We wanted to bring the color and life to recruiting! aka human sparkle ✨ @meganung and I have been working on Explain the Valley for several months and are thrilled to present the live video job board! With Explain the Valley you don't just read about a job and apply. There's video clips sent in by company employees! We want student candidates excited and informed when applying to a job. Explain the Valley explained in three simple steps: Step 1 🥚: Create your student account. (must have .edu) Step 2 🐣: Watch & discover startups hiring. Step 3 🐥: Apply to a job! Your application gets to the recruiters and founders themselves. As a current student, I'm a strong believer in early talent discovering the most innovative people and startups hiring. Great idea! This can help companies find candidates who are a great fit for them by better explaining the role, team, and culture. Win-win scenario given recruiting costs on one hand and the competition for limited roles on the other.
