Nice app. I like it and i like the design. However, i don't see it as a paid app. It's a nice extension to have, but i'm not sure that i want THAT BAD to be unseen to spend 20 bucks/year. It's not expensive, it's just not something that i will pay for.

Hi @cosminbaluta, This app aims to help people maintain a productive routine during the day. There are a lot of people who need to maintain productivity and sometimes need to use Facebook without getting sucked in - that's what we help to facilitate. I try to be productivity, and I like to play games, and I like to see videos and read posts and comments, and I love to chat, but not always at the same time. Doing everything together is multitasking, and that's horrible for your productivity. You think you’re doing a lot but you’re achieving nothing. Appearing as not available allows you to target just the tasks you want to perform and not to get dragged in, it's that simple. There are a lot of productivity apps out there that don't have to-do lists features including recuse time, Log me in, Feedly etc, people who need them pay for them. Hope this answers your question of why you should pay for this app, thank you for commenting!

@cosminbaluta Working with digital marketing and spending loads of time every day on Facebook (working), I definitely think I can enhance my productivity worth more than 20 USD/year with this app.

@juusolyytikka @cosminbaluta Glad to hear that, I'm a digital marketer as well, and working on Facebook is not easy :)

@haimpekel @juusolyytikka @cosminbaluta basically the idea of Ghost came out of a daily need for a distraction-free Facebook experience, it's definitely a productivity enhancer !

@cosminbaluta Here's how you can do it for free right on Facebook.

Love the "unseen" mode
Mark Pekel
Hi @rrhoover, glad you liked it! :)
Loukman
@rrhoover What about the Ghost mode ?
Joel Nicoletti
@haimpekel Doesn't work for me… whether I open the messages on facebook.com/messages/ or click on a persons name in the messages drop down menu next to the notifications (top right corner). The senders always immediately get an indication that've read their messages. Ghost mode works fine tough (as long as I don't open messages).

Here is a free alternative: https://chrome.google.com/websto...

@kevinohlsson The unseen feature is free forever on Ghost for Chat, but this alternative won't help you vanish from Facebook chat and allowing you to interact with people without showing on chat or giving any indication you’re on Facebook Chat. It's all about the Ghost mode !
Mark Pekel
Hi @kevinohlsson, We have the same features as unseen + we're removing the time stamp next to your profile on Facebook Chat and the little green dot. You can read about it on our website http://www.ghostforchat.com/

Cheers, thanks for clarifying :)
Mark Pekel
@kevinohlsson Will you use it now? :P

@lecoupa Thank you, glad to see fellow growth hackers loving this tool :)

Thanks for visiting, let me tell you a bit about our app... Ghost for Facebook chat is a Chrome app that allows you to use Facebook chat and stay productive. We do it by blocking the "Last seen" time stamp next to your image on Chat, we also remove the little green dot next to your image and on the message box itself, we're removing the "Seen on" status. If you love Facebook, but Facebook chat is messing your productivity, this app is for you. You'll be able to talk to whomever you'd like and other won't be able to see you. You can visit our website http://www.ghostforchat.com/ Would love to hear your feedback!

Nice job! Two dev questions: 1) Chrome extension source code is easily accessible. I can override the pay-block with one line of code. How do you expect your users to pay? 2) What stops Facebook from disabling this by changing the variables you access?
Mark Pekel
@joshim5 Hi, like with every chrome plugin, it's very easy to get the source code. We haven't built this for developers, we've built this for people who want to be more focused while using Facebook, that's a large audience. Also, this product is POC for another product we're developing. About your other question, we are always monitoring updates from Facebook and we can update our extension accordingly, it's pretty easy and quick. Hope this answers your question, thanks for commenting!
