Nice messenger that works fine. What I really like is that I don't have to care about a backup of my content. The backup is always there (when I setup a special password for that) and I don't have to care about. Therefore it is easy for me when changing the phone that I have the same content on my new device.

Pros:

GDPR compliant

Backup is always available

easy to change to a new device

supports using multiple devices with the same account

Cons:

none

Fabio

It's safe and intuitive to use.

Pros:

Hosted in Germany

Provider shielding

Full encryption (also data at rest)

Easy onboarding (QR code scan)

Cons:

Desktop clients only in closed beta still

@alexanderwildschutz Have you had a chance to use this product? What did you think about it?

@jakecrump Yes - We switched to ginlo (needed by GDPR) and use it for internal collaboration and sometimes for external too. Its a good tool for communication. But there are still some features you know from slack or whatsapp missing - But I guess they will come in the future.

We use ginlo at work daily within the team๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Pros:

Alternative for WhatsApp, hosted in Germany. #GDPRcompliant

Cons:

Nothing so far

Given all the (unsecured) American communication apps, ginlo is more then a good and German/European alternative.

Pros:

Excellent communication app with a very useful admin function which really respects and secures my privacy.

Cons:

More features would be useful.
