I've been using it for years. There is no need to add annoying GDPR banners, as no sensitive data or cookies are stored. I'd recommend it for everyone who just wants to know simple analytics of their webpage.

It's just a fantastic analytics tool which respects end users privacy which I value heavily. Making it open source as well as providing it as self-hostable or hosted options is just the icing on the cake. Love and recommend it for creators who value privacy by design and don't have to rely on 'deeper' analytics features.
