Hi Product Hunt! I'm Victor, a game designer and comedian, and I’m excited to introduce you to High Score Host. We originally developed this technology to throw video game parties IRL for our gaming site (HighScoreGameArcade.com) where people played games on their phone and a leaderboard screen tracked the competition live. Along the way, we realized it was an amazing tool to help businesses collect email addresses. After testing in multiple locations, we’ve seen incredible results, with adoption rates as high as 80%! We’ve even tested it on streaming platforms, where players used it while streaming online. Here’s a YouTube video explaining exactly how High Score Host works. -
The reason I’m here today is that we’re looking for beta testers to join us. It would be invaluable to have you as part of our beta testing team. In exchange, we’re offering unlimited games and unlimited email collection—there will never be a cap on the number of emails you can collect through the system. Plus, you'll get a lifetime subscription, meaning you’ll never have to pay for the standard version again. For all Product Hunt users, we also have a special code to grab the lifetime deal at 50% off! PRODHUNT I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks a lot for your support! Bye for now! Victor Varnado

@victor_varnado this sounds super fun and useful! One question tho, is there a limit to the number of players that can join the leaderboard at once? Just curious if it's scalable for larger events or if there might be some limitations there. Thanks!

@victor_varnado @alexandermoore There is no limit to the amount of players that can join a leaderboard. We have built it to scale for very large events, think concerts, keynotes, etc.

@alexandermoore @omar_b_resident_genius_ Omar is correct. He is on the team actually.

I love this game so much because I know Victor as an artist. He is a comedian, creator, inventor, bringer of joy. But really, this game is what the world needs now. People need to stop being on their phones and meet people in the real world... if we ever find love, it's not on an app. Finding love on an app is a lottery ticket. Try it, might work. But probably not. We get closer to other humans in the world? Then we make friends and find love. I know this and not sure if Victor knows it but he's created a game to share in the world. But wait! There's more, so much more... Through High Score Host and the games, Victor wants everyone to feel the fun of the arcade. He wrote about that on his blog, so I know and I know him and know it's true. Victor is talking of the arcade of my childhood. The 80's! Yes, I'm "old" or young depending on how you look at it (technically Victor's a hair or two older than me I think) but I grew up going to the Mid Island Mall arcade with my brother. PS I hated the 80's for many reasons but find the fun? Any place with an arcade. I loved the arcade more than most girls, and I tell the story on stage about how I would comb my brother's (both brothers but one had more chance than the other) I'd comb my brother's dark blue shag carpet for quarters with my fingers like an addict for fun.... because I could sometimes find loose change for the arcade in there. It was deep shag... for real. I learned this trick by accident in my own room with pink shag carpet. I like the arcade because you know what you are getting... fun and a challenge for a low price, or no price if you find quarters in the carpet! Arcades were dark, loud and fun but also? Kinda safe. Dark places can be AWESOME. Like bars! I love bars! I barely go out or drink now but when I do I have fun and you don't need alcohol but holy crap we need fun right now. And my brother Adam would be there (Adam Felber, google him, he has a wikipedia page) so if anyone messed with me, Adam would make sure they stopped. But if I'm being honest, which I always try to do now.... I don't remember anyone messing with me. Note: My brother Mike didn't love video games as much but he woulda defended me too if he was there... just saying it for the record, because records of good fun stuff are important. Records! They play music... but for games they are a sign YOU TRIED HARD AND BEAT SOMEONE!!! In a non-violent way!!!! Just like in video games. So with Victor, your record or even your place on the board matters. Why does it matter? It just does and everyone knows that. I will now stop but I love people who produce cool stuff from a place of love! YAY!!
