Definitely an interesting value proposition - I'm the kind of person who loves to try the "house special". Most restaurants don't make it super obvious what that is, so I just ask. This would be a cool way to find out without actually going to the restaurant, and help influence what restaurant I'd pick.
Restaurant discover is already super crowded and it's hard to see anything breaking through, but this definitely caught my attention
Fantastic idea. I've always dreamed of having a digital menu where I can see what my friends have ordered at the restaurant or what the most popular dishes in the past day, week, etc.
Feel free to take my idea and build it! Or ping me on Twitter @imkevinxu. I'll even pitch in to the crowdfunding :D
Love this if it can restaurants on board easily. I pretty much have to see what I order before I do, so I'm scouring pictures on Foursquare and Yelp for what to order instead of the menu.

This looks very interesting. Foodspotting has very spotty data and seems to languishing post acquisition. @karangoel There are usually two sources that people goto for menu data - SinglePlatform & Loku
Chef's Feed (http://www.chefsfeed.com/) does the same kind of thing, but asks the best chefs in each city what their favorite dishes are at *other* people's restaurants. I find it rewarding every time I use it.
AND they are in my podunk city (Portland).
Just added Chef's Feed for comparison: http://www.producthunt.com/l/3ef...
