My name is Amit, a soon-to-be Dad 🤞🏽🙂 We are expecting our first baby soon (Feb 2022), and like most first-time parents, we signed up for a bunch of pregnancy tracking apps that tell you how big your baby is each week - "Your baby is as big as a bunch of kale". That's a pretty boring and uninspiring visualization, I think. Yet, that's what most of these apps do. But, I wanted something different and better, like... #1 Daily Updates 👎🏽All the pregnancy apps I found provided only weekly updates. ✅ I was so excited about the baby that I wanted daily updates (the baby doesn't grow that much on a daily basis, but I could still make it interesting and fun by referencing different objects of similar sizes). #2 Fun, lively, and interesting updates 👎🏽The pictures these pregnancy apps referenced were drawings, or illustrations (mostly comparing babies to fruits and vegetables). ✅I wanted the updates to be a bit more fun and diverse with real life pictures of everyday objects that I could relate to. #3 Get updates as Text Messages 👎🏽 Most importantly, they were all apps I had to download. More notifications. More spam. More clutter. ✅ Instead of downloading another app, I wanted my wife and I to get a simple text message every morning telling us how big the baby was. 💬I couldn't find a service that would do this. So, I built it. My wife and I have been using How big is the baby SMS bot last couple months, and we love it. It's cute and fun.
