Resize, Reframe, Cut and Caption videos from Horizontal to Vertical/Square for TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTubeShorts and more using AI Automation. Make high quality video GIFs. All in your browser.
👋 Hi Product Hunters,
Six years ago we launched Findie on Product Hunt, a short-form video discovery website (hunted by @rrhoover).
We were discovered on Product Hunt by @pmchx, ended up white-labeling for our first big customer (L’Oreal) who tasked us with automatically editing and resizing 130,000 (!!) horizontal beauty videos to optimize them for mobile screens and after a successful campaign, knew we had the foundation of an exciting new technology.
Fast forward 3 years, and we’re thrilled to be back on Product Hunt to launch Kamua: a browser-based automatic video editing tool that helps creators optimize video across all major video platforms, from YouTube to TikTok to Instagram (and of course, more!).
While Kamua is a great tool for editing videos one-at-a-time, our secret power is Kamua’s Automation AI that intelligently re-sizes and crops video based on the most interesting or relevant parts of the video AND automatically adds closed captions that adapt to whatever aspect ratio you need.
One reason why this is important: in order to address the widest audiences, video content needs to offer accessible closed captioning and not only does Kamua do this, but it also gives you control over the size, positioning, and readability of captions. We've had great feedback from people who suffer from hearing loss — and @sharonfeder, (our newest advisor!), will share more below.

AI automation of “Hard and Boring Tasks“ 👈🏻 🔑
Let me just dig in here for a moment. What are “Hard and Boring Tasks”? Think about all of the things that prevent you from making your videos great and/or better for various social networks, like TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram Reels, Stories and IGTV, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Pinterest Stories, LinkedIn Stories, Triller, Twitter (see why this is a challenge?)
To celebrate our return to Product Hunt, we’re offering a special discount just for you ➡️ use code ‘KITTY’ for $20 off our $25 tier!
One last thing - we were supposed to launch last week but some kind of glitch happened and we only ended up being listed for a short while in the afternoon. That's why some comments are from last week.
I’ll be around all day — supported by my team (@eek@jimh@arthur_sempebwa) and would love to hear what you think — or if you have any complex video tasks that you’ve been unable to tackle recently!

@kdrnp Thank you for your words! That's what we are aiming as well, to get rid of as much unfun parts from video editing.

I use this system regularly in my work as a content strategist and it makes parsing through our library of videos so much easier and much more efficient.
@mggrandoss Hey Mary Grace! Great to see you on here. So glad you've been getting value out of Kamua and looking forward to hearing more from Zen about your workflow improvements.
Report
Ah, now that's what it's all about @mggrandoss 😁. Saving you time! Thanks for the support🙌

@mggrandoss I agree! Kamua makes it so much easier and much more efficient when I am editing videos!

My mother has been hearing impaired her whole life, and I’ve watched how painful it is for her not to be able to consume video. She recently shared an incredible video of my five-year-old daughter with me, and using Kamua, I showed her how to quickly add and tweak captions within a matter of minutes. She was floored.
I want to get Kamua into the hands of more brands and creators so that they, too, can make their content more accessible. It’s easy to use and requires no formal editing background!
@adamhirsch@sharonfeder@shwirtz We are delighted to have you and Sharon on board! I promise the parties will be fun, too, when that's a thing again. :)
?makers Forgive me if this is obvious to some, but to me it's not. I've heard Davinci Resolve does autocrop like this. Is that true or are there any differences?
@geoffchat
And Premiere with Auto Reframe and Final Cut on the M1 macs with Smart Conform. We like to brag ours is better, and our users also tell us this. I guess the best way is to try it out and see if it's great for you too :D
One obvious advantage we have is that if the AI didn't track the right thing, you can click Custom Object Track and then select the object you want to follow from the video.
If even that doesn't work well either, you can easily do Keyframes (which are easier to use than in traditional NLEs).
And, of course, everything I've just said is done in the Cloud, so you could do that even from a Chromebook.
@philcampbell@jimh Hey Phil! Great to see you on here thank you for the support. We need more people like you and more videos like the ones you make!
Report
@jimh actually i have'nt yet, i'm still working on my workflow from 16:9 to 9:16 -- it can be a lot for one person to do so i'm trying to break that all up and come up with a pipeline for it, when i get to play with it again i'll let ya know!
Report
@jimh@prcary thanks buddy! trying to get up to speed with the new m1 mac so hopefully i've got the kit to keep up now :)
Report
@philcampbell Ok Phil that sounds good. If you ever need our help with workflow or anything else Kamua related, we're just on the other side of the help bubble.

This is pretty darn cool. You're telling me I don't have to spend hours upon hours (upon hours) editing, trimming, or resizing videos anymore? I'm in.
