⌘ kbar is an open source, fully extensible cmd+k interface for your site. With Spotlight, Linear & Vercel's cmd+k experience in mind, kbar aims to be a simple abstraction to add a fast, beautiful, and extensible command center to any of your projects.
Hello all!
Command+k interfaces have always sparked my UI interests – from Spotlight's (command+space) experience to Linear & Vercel's web experiences, I asked myself how an extensible command+k library would look like.
kbar is a project that gives as much flexibility to the user as possible, while handling all of the detailed nuances of a menu like this; animations, search, navigation, etc.
It's a work in progress – so better to share as soon as possible!
Add it to your site, shoot me a DM, enjoy! :-)
@sheksushant thanks! While this library targets React, it should be pretty simple to port into plain Javascript or any other frontend framework of choice. :-)
Supper clean, great work! Is there some token, icon, insignia I can see upon entering a site to know if it is a kbar site (before pressing command+k)?

Nice widget! Do you have any sites using this? Would love to see it in action in a real site.. Trying to think of a few cases where it would be helpful in a website

As someone who focuses on conversion optimization, I could see this being huge for SaaS apps based on user trends we see daily... like navigating with only keyboard.
