I am kind of digging this little robot idea as a way to "draw" for family and friends across the world. Give one as a gift, and then occasionally bring it to life, spontaneously giving a gift of a doodle. Could be a lot of fun!
p.s. Personally thought, I am thinking they should go with a simpler edition. Forget the "attach rPi or Arduino" language and go for "make from your iPhone" crowd. At $80 price tag, this is a neat little thing to give grandparents for Xmas or just for fun, and then doodle for them. Could be a huge success.
Now this little robot got me excited. It seems so simple yet has so many use-cases not only for drawing but stuff like music (like in the video). And I guess based on the starting price it's totally worth even if as just something to play around with 🙃
I like how on the GIF it looks like the robot jumps in excitement: Oh, oh, I'm drawing!

Can you use it as a handwriting printer or sorts?

I’m new to robots. Could you explain in detail how Hexbot can interface with trigger sensors to start and stop operations and perform other tasks? Does Hexbot have trigger inputs already built in?
