Scott Lefkowitz
šŸ‘‹ Product Hunters! My name is Scotty Lefkowitz - the creator of Ludite App and I'm very excited to launch my project on Product Hunt! šŸ’” What is it? Ludite is inverted social media, so we can experience the freedom of controlling our bad tech habits. In order to post, begin a moment. In a moment, lock your phone and do your favorite offline activities. When you're done, return to the app and share what you did with friends or keep it as a memory. šŸ¤” Why? Last year, my friend challenged me to go a week without my phone and computer. As a college student who was easily putting in 10 hours of daily screen time, this was ostensibly impossible. However, it was not only possible; it was revolutionary. Stepping back from my screen and seeing all of my deleterious habits felt like George Bailey returning to Bedford Falls. With all my new time I began replacing bad habits with activities I found fulfilling. Checking instagram incessantly morphed into taking that extra ten minutes after lunch to laugh with friends. Reading inflammatory news articles was replaced with learning to code. So, Ludite was born from this endlessly exciting problem. The idea is simple: instead of using herculean effort to create good habits with your phone, lean on your friends in a fun way. If you want to see what it's all about then go check out the product. We would be deeply appreciative if you gave us some feedback, so feel free to DM us on Twitter or leave a comment below šŸ‘‡
