I too am shocked to see this company listed on PH - as someone who helped people rid themselves of MacKeeper for years when working at Apple - I wouldn't trust this company with a Casio calculator -- super aggressive marketing techniques, bullying tactics and generally questionable behaviour in the past does not bode well for the present or the future - how many leopards truly change their spots? - unless this is just the same organisation by name only?, but if even one executive remains from the "old" MacKeeper then it will still engage in dodgy practices, smear campaigns against its competitors, aggressive marketing and borderline abusive behaviours. No thank you - many other alternatives available that do the exact same things without the heavy negative history that this company has. Just look at their wikipedia entry for a small taste!

@dujio YES!! Something fishy is definitely going on bc your comment was hidden (I had to unhide it to see it) and all these positive comments feel like planted amazon reviews. I tested it out it this morning thinking it must've changed from years ago when I tried it. Nope, You can never quit the helper application and it pesters you multiple times an hour to upgrade. Like you said, borderline abusive. I can't believe it's still allowed.

@dujio @jwidmer Joel, as we have real time protection against viruses and malware, MacKeeper still works on the background if you quit it from the Dock. However, you can fully quit it from the Dashboard.

Can you please explain your pricing? If I use the link found on PH the prices are higher than the prices on the Pricing page linked from your HP: PH: https://mackeeper.com/newbn/buyn... HP: https://mackeeper.com/newbn/buyn... For the price of 3 Macs, 12 months I get 1 Mac, 12 months if using the PH link.

@alex_grau1 We have different pricing policies for different countries. The reason is in price localization. Simply, it is tailoring the price of a commodity, a product, or a service to suit an international market, including the currency type. It also includes taxes, operations fees, etc. You can choose another country and check its prices.

@vicky_clario I'm not moving, I'm in the same country as 5 minutes before. I click on the "Get It" button on PH and then go to your Home Page and then "Pricing" option. And I get better prices when I go the the second option than the pricing offered to Product Hunt users.

If you google "MacKeeper malware" you'll see that this product has a bad reputation and the comments on this post all seem to be fake. Do your research before installing this app.

@new_user_32167f63fd I definitely understand trying to turn the software around but it has many years of doing damage to people's machines (rather than helping them). If the product truly is completely different and helpful it's going to be difficult to change that reputation.

MacKeeper successfully passed Apple Notarization which means MacKeeper has been checked by Apple for malicious components. It proves that whenever you’re using the app, you can be confident that the app you use is acknowledged to be safe, and so is your data. I just downloaded it to try it out and while the features seem cool, the persistent live chat doing nothing but trying to upsell me is one of the most annoying invasive things I’ve seen in an app in a long time. I asked if I could turn it off if I bought it and no was the answer I got.

@vicky_clario He was relentless. Zero help, just canned sales messages multiple times an hour. Super distracting and invasive. After trying to quit MK and finding that your helper agent relaunches itself a second after you force quit it and sends more upgrade messages to notifications, I uninstalled it. Waste of a morning.

@jwidmer I investigated your complaint. Thanks for raising this issue. Please take my sincere apologies for these sales. I would be frustrated too. I shared your case with our Quality Assurance department and the agent will be punished. We also will have a discussion about that with his manager. I can imagine how confusing it was and I'm sorry for this inconvenience and persuading. Please be sure this is not our strategy to annoy or push our customers. @kristina_zagorulko ?makers You could have avoided the negative comments if you had paid more attention to the launch. It is not enough to rename the development company from Zeo Aliance to Clario. You need to change the design and name of the application. You need to avoid mentioning the employees who did MacKeeper, even if they are co-owners and want some fame. Nothing should connect you and the old product. Believe me, you have to be more careful in "gray" niches.
