Thanks @stevesi for hunting us!
Hello, Product Hunt community!
I am excited to introduce all of you to the new Neeva app for Android. For a honest new take on search that is free from bias and tracking, the app brings Neeva’s search engine and browser to the Android platform.
🤔 The Problem
As Android users, we’ve learned to live with the pervasive tracking and ads that follow us around in our browser. We’ve learned to live with mobile search experiences with two screens of ads before we get to the results we are really looking for. We’ve learned to live without control over the sites we care to rank in the search results. We’ve learned to live with the lack of authentic search results from forums. We’ve learned to live with browsers that force us to search when it could just navigate us to the right result directly from the browser.
If you are one of these users, the Neeva app for Android is just for you. A from-the-ground-up new browser with the best of Neeva Search.
🛠 Our Solution:
We built the Neeva Android app with exactly one customer in mind. You. With the Neeva Android app, we kill all trackers. You have full control over the sites that rank in your search results, and can upvote/downvote them as you see fit. In lieu of search result pages full of ads and SEO, you get authentic results from the water coolers of the Internet, be it Reddit, Quora, Stack Overflow, or many others. Whenever possible, you get rich previews and full page search experiences that answer your query right away. And our FastTap feature saves you time by letting you completely skip the search results page and directly navigate to the pages you want to get to.
We would love for all of you who are Android users to try out our app. Looking forward to your support and feedback here today.
Here’s to reimagining the future of searching and browsing together.
Super excited to hunt this for the community. Neeva has proven to be a reliable search engine for me for the kind of searches I do and at the same time offering an unmatched level of privacy.

As a Neeva user my favorite "feature" is not accidentally tapping on ads. Perhaps it's just my thumbs but that simple difference has saved me a *lot* of frustration - very easy to avoid ads when there aren't any!
I've got some good news, Nachiketa: no waiting required, the ios app is live too :)
@rob_seger1 thanks for the shout out. In our studies, we find on queries with ads, users prefer us 9 out of 10 times to ad-supported engines. Which speaks to what you are saying!
Hey all, I’m so excited to share this new Android browser with you. I’ve been working on browsers for over 2 decades now, and as a tool that we use every day and take for granted, it is remarkable how much isn’t actually great about how browsers and search engines work–especially on mobile.
We’re all used to scrolling past ads in web search results to find what we are looking for, skipping past sites that we know won’t have what we are looking for and just getting by with that as the status quo. We’re used to a browser that doesn’t do much to help us avoid ending up with a mess of tabs. We’re used to the overhead. We’re used to the clutter.
For me, the opportunity with Neeva as an ad-free search experience has really been to explore and capitalize on how the experience can be more efficient, more direct, more helpful, more peaceful because you aren’t wading through ads and because the system isn’t trying to direct you to surfaces that would show you ads.
Normal browsers of course make their money off of search ads revenue. They all pretty much have the same business model. Even the one from the fruit company.
With Neeva, it’s different. We’re not trying to optimize the experience around how many times you see a search results page with ads. We are instead able to focus on helping you skip the search results page when possible via FastTap, or help you stay better organized so you can more easily get back to what you care about and not need to repeat your searches.
In fact, we pride ourselves on how often we can help you skip past our search results page. Of course it is there when you need it, and we work to provide features in our search results page that help you better filter the content and see only what you care about. Personally, I love being able to click on the “Official Docs” button when I’m searching for an API reference. It’s also trivial to indicate that you want to see more or less content from specific sites for example.
Anyways, this new Android app is us bringing the experience we created on iOS to Android with a bit of a twist. We wanted the experience to feel like it belongs on Android w/ a fresh design built on Material 3 and powered by Jetpack Compose. This new browser is a from-the-ground-up build for Android that embeds Chromium but does so in a novel way that enables us to isolate the complexity of Chromium from the rest of the app, enabling us to build a true modern Android app on top of Compose. Pretty cool stuff.
Hope you will give the app a try and please stay tuned as we work to make it even better. We have a bunch of cool features on the way. This is just the start!
And of course you can check out the app on iOS too if you aren’t an Android user. Either way we would love to hear your feedback, thanks! :-)
Hi everyone! It has been a great journey in the last year as we explored different ways to innovate in mobile browsing and explore what new experiences can be enabled through Neeva’s ad-free approach to search. At Neeva, we are proud to push the boundaries of how search can work for the user. Our browsers are where this shines through the most, benefiting not only the search experience, but also how we show up in helping the users get their daily tasks done. Neeva has its own take on many productivity features browsers generally have. We even have our own version of bookmarks, called Spaces, that allows you to freely curate content across the web with notes and thumbnails and even publish these curated lists on other platforms!
Over the last months, we have been hard at work, building a new browser from the ground up to bring these features to our Android users. Today, we are very proud to share Neeva for Android with you. This app is unique not only in its productivity features and search experience, but also in how it was built as well. Having a modern technology stack at its core allows us to continue making the experience better at a lightning fast pace and keep innovating.
Hope you will give it a try and share any feedback you might have with us! Looking forward to hearing from you.
It’s an honor to be Product Hunted by @stevesi again! It only feels like yesterday that we launch on Product Hunt but it is nearly a year since then.
In the meanwhile, we have been incredibly busy. We now have a full fledged websearch stack up and running: we crawl hundreds of millions of pages and serves billions of pages off our own index. This has allowed us to create amazing features like Fast Tap that make search truly instant on the iOS app and now the android app too!
We have been thrilled with the response to Neeva: most people that try us promptly declare that there is no going back ever again! The idea that software can focus on user problems and solve them in straightforward ways is simple and for 2022, radical!
Give our product and browser a try and send us feedback! We are only getting started and there is lots we can do!
Hey guys, we are excited to bring the Neeva browser to our friends on Android! I’ve been on the Neeva engineering team for 3+ years and it’s been an awesome journey seeing us evolve our mobile app from a simple React Native prototype to a fully native, cross platform browser and search experience brimming with innovative features like FastTap, NeevaScope and more. We’ve invested deeply in this area, building a wonderful mobile team filled with folks who have deep expertise in the browser space (like Darin Fisher, who used to lead the Chrome engineering team). I hope you’ll take our browser for a spin (available on both Android and iOS) and let us know what you think!
