Number Salad

A challenging math-based daily puzzle

Number Salad is the sequel to Word Salad, our hit daily word game. The daily games market is lacking a really good math game (most are logic or word based) and Number Salad is our solution to that problem, a game that actually makes math fun!

Hi Everyone! Really excited to announce the release of Number Salad, which we launched last week. Daily games are a huge part of so many peoples' routines now, from Connections to Wordle to our own game Word Salad, and that's before we consider the huge number of crosswords and sudokus out there. These types of games are all general knowledge, logic or word-based and we felt that there was a gap in the market for a game that got you using the (possibly long-dormant) mathematical parts of your brain. Number Salad is a game that puts mental arithmetic at the heart of its game play, with elements of logic and geometry as well. We design all our games to be challenging and good for you (hence 'salad'), we go for a clean and simple aesthetic, more similar to an NYT game than a typical mobile puzzle, and we try to avoid gimmicks to get people coming back - we want people playing our games because they're fun and interesting, not because we've hacked their dopamine receptors. All our daily puzzles are set by me and my co-founder Mark, and we want our puzzles feeling like you're really being challenged by another human being - rather than just being set by computer. I would really love feedback on it, so far we've been really surprised by how many people we know who were sceptical about enjoying a math-based game have really fallen in love with it, and I think it might be a great fit for the product hunt audience. We're also continually setting new puzzles, so getting the difficulty right is always a challenge and we're very open to suggestions/feedback on that in particular - as it can be hard to set something that's challenging enough without being off-putting. Really hope you like the game!
