👋 Hey, Product Hunt! Baptiste here, co-founder of Paktol. I made this spending tracker app because: 1/ I kept overspending every month 2/ I realized that when it comes to spending money, instincts beats willpower. Why instincts? Because Paktol tells you if NOW is the right time for your purchase. Either: 1/ You've enough money. 2/ You've got not quite enough money and either your reconsider your purchase (scale down, delay, consider 2nd-hand...) or you spend knowing that you'll enter "recovery mode" where you have to wait to be afloat anew. 3/ Or you are already in recovery period and you are extra careful about what you buy. This app makes spending control natural because it leverages the cheap short-term decisions circuits instead of relying an exhausting constant monitoring of our analytical brain.
