Nicely designed, @jaaaaarek. I can see this being super useful for designers, from newbies to pros (there's always another Sketch shortcut or #lifehack).
I haven't seen anyone leverage Google login to streamline YouTube uploads like this.
@rrhoover Thanks Ryan. If Pixm can generate as strong a community as PH, I think it will become natural to post a question and get an answer back fairly quickly. That's the goal at least!
Hey PH! I created Pixm with the simple idea that questions about creative software should be answered with video.
Ask questions on how to create nested symbols in Sketch or how to animate text in After Effects, or create a cinemagraph in Photoshop. The only limit we have is our imagination! If you're already an expert, help others by answering their questions! Thanks everyone, can't wait to hear your feedback!
Hey Jarek!
This is really cool!
I admire how MVP this is, but yet it's still got a really clean and consistent design. Love how you've simplified the YouTube upload approach.
Would love to learn more about how you built it.
â What framework or language did you use?
â How did you decide on what features to include/not include?
â How long did it take you to get to this point?
@alwysnvr Thanks for the compliments Matthew! It's built with Angular and Node. Full stack JS.
As a Product Designer myself, I wanted to keep it simple starting out. It's easy to go out of scope and think about all the possibilities, but it's important to keep things simple in the beginning and just iterate from there.
It took me a little over a month to get to this point.

I'd love to see a preview of the questions that have been asked/ answered before I sign up. Definitely looks cool!
@sai_grsh Hey Sai. Thanks! Right now, you can view questions and answers without an account. However, in order to ask or answer them, you will need to be signed in.
@adammydesign Thanks Adam! Yes. I chose to launch before making it responsive as most of the content is desktop-related. This is at the top of my priorities list.
@joseph_lei I agree 100%. I've done a few tutorials and there's no doubt it takes a little bit of effort to do it the right way. Have you made tutorial videos in the past? What sort of incentive would motivate you to make a video, edit and upload it to Pixm?
