Hi ProductHunt folks 👋, Excited to be here to launch my first product! ProgressBar is a simple app that sits in your Windows toolbar and tells you how much progress you've made through your day and year. 💬 Why I built it I made ProgressBar because I needed it. When working long hours as an entrepreneur, I would begin each day by setting out tasks that I'd like to complete by the end of the day. However, I found that I'd finish the day with some tasks not even started, let alone complete. I realised I spent too much time on work that wasn’t no longer useful. I was inspired by @andreyazimov's ProgressBarOSX [1] as to tool to help me stay on track during the day, but unfortunately it was only available on OSX and I couldn't find anything similar on Windows that I liked the design of. So I decided to build it myself as a side project! And as a side benefit I'd also learn some valuable skills in launching a product, marketing it, supporting users and so on 😃 🚀 Features: - Show/hide progress bar by right-clicking on the Windows taskbar - Dark mode supported - Change the time when your day starts and ends by clicking on the bar - On the roadmap: add dates for custom goals. The app and the concept itself is pretty simple but really great. However, this is a bit too overpriced, may I recommend you to suggest the users to pay what they want? 0$+ shceme. Or maybe ask for donations instead, many will then make the promotions of your app and then you could get even more users, and more benefits! People those days prefer Free apps with the possibility to donate, I swear!

Could you share a bit about what technologies you used to create it? I would love to create similar widgets of my own for pomodoro, Todoist task count. Really hard to find tutorials/documentation for Windows widgets online.

Sure @aadil_ayub! It's built in .NET Framework and C#. I created a fast MVP in only a couple of hours using electron, but unfortunately you can't use electron to build DeskBands, which are like little apps that live in the Windows toolbar.

I love having ProgressBar on my toolbar. On multiple occasions it's made me realise how quickly my day is progressing and caused me to reprioritise what I need to get done. Seeing the clock change is great, but nothing is as visual as this for understanding how far the day has progressed.

@edita I believe that's actually a custom deadline - you can put "life" there, or any other deadline name you want 🙂
