Reddit is one of the last remaining places on the Internet where you can find real product reviews. I created Reddit Bests to aggregate all these reviews in one place.

What do you think? …

Hi Product Hunters! It's getting increasingly difficult to find legit product reviews online, especially with all the SEO/affiliate blogs taking over Google search results. I found myself relying on Reddit as research tool when looking to compare different products. Reddit Bests does two things: 1. Aggregate reddit comments for >1 million products. Comments are sorted by their upvote score on Reddit 2. Rank top products within different categories based on number of mentions and on how positive the reviews are (I used sentiment analysis to determine is a comment is positive or negative). Let me know what you think and if you have any feature suggestions. I'm still working on improving the website (planning to add search functionality as well as a list of popular categories).

This will save a lot of time for product research hehe. But I wish there was an option where you can filter product categories.
Andrei
@kenmoo coming soon! 😇
Robert Brown
Wow, never thought about Reddit being a source of user reviews. Totally makes sense now that I think about it. How can I search for a specific product category?
Andrei
@robertb right now you can't, but I will be sure to add that feature soon

This is the kind of hacky idea I love! Would be great to group the products by category. Also, it would be interesting to implement stats and data visualization. Imagine tracking the fast-growing trends based on Reddit mentions :)
Andrei
@lucas_p great suggestions! I'll definitely implement more features if there's enough demand

Really nice idea! What will be next steps?
Andrei
@szczepan_serwatka I think the next step will be adding search functionality and after that maybe adding a list of commonly accessed topics like smartphones, books, etc.
Devin Alldrit
This is a great idea. I find Reddit is still a great place to find honesty.
Andrei
@devin_alldrit1 yup, 100% agree
