Share your remote story! We are excited to introduce RemoteRated, a focused place to rate and review the remote competence, benefits, and tools of companies. Like Glassdoor, for our new remote world.
The quick story behind this, and where it came from: In the midst of the pandemic last year, I created a super simple website AreTheyRemoteYet.com which simply listed the companies that had recently announced remote transitions (e.g. Twitter, Zillow, etc.) when the website started getting so many positive responses, it was clear that there was something worth exploring here.
People wanted to know: Who are the best remote companies, and who are the latest remote-first/transformed companies?
We looked around for ratings sites doing a good job of this, but didn't find any, so we decided to build the solution we wanted to see!
RemoteRated is truly a passion project, it's our love-letter to the magic of remote work done well. Thanks in advance for your feedback, help, shares, and submissions! :-)
@bogdan_ionita Thanks, Bogdan, that's the goal and the idea here. I would love to see employers get recognition for being great at running remotely, as it makes such a huge difference. Conversely, I'd also like to see those that too a really poor job get called on it while finding ways to improve.
@bogdan_ionita
Thank you for those Kind words . Always good to see good reviews when the product first sees the light of the world !!! Employer branding is something companies these days focus on and a tool like this helps aid that.

This is a fantastic and timely addition to the tools both companies and jobseekers have at their disposal to surface both job candidates and opportunities for employment.
It would be interesting to see how easy it would be to integrate public job listings on sites like Indeed.com and automatically cross reference Remote Rated to identify if the employer already has a score or not ... even easier, maybe include a browser extension that crawls a job hunting site and notifies you if they’ve been verified as “Remote Rated!” I see it as much of a WalkScore for real estate as a Glassdoor for companies advertising remote work.
@kyle_sleeper This is a really great way to think about it, if we can get enough action on the ratings, that's the vision, is that these scores can become a clear metric to indicate how competent a company is at operating remotely, something that makes it easy to compare! Thanks for the thoughtful support, Kyle - really grateful to have you in my orbit! :-)
@kyle_sleeper Walkscore is a great example and Model ! Since remote work thrives on marketplace sort of model, platform such as these find more relevance is what we feel - than ever before.
@nucro Thanks, Orçun! Good catch too, we've moved so quickly here that we are fixing and building in real time! Lorem-Ipsum will be haunting me for at least another few days! Would love to hear more of your thoughts on what you like and what you don't! :-)

I've actually been looking for a product like this! I have two suggestions:
1. I get a negative feeling when I see 0/5 for un-rated companies. My brain processes the 0 / 5 rating before it notices "no reviews" underneath. It's a bit unfair to companies to say they have 0 out of 5 when they actually just have 0 reviews.
2. I'd love to be able to sort by # of reviews or filter for companies with reviews.
That's it! Great product. Best of luck.
@sarrah Hey Sarrah, this is really really helpful and practical feedback, really grateful for your thoughts here! I'd love to get in touch properly, want to shoot me an email at maxim (at) merico (dot) dev? Looking forward to speaking more! Thanks again for the support!
Hey PH Fam! Second launch here, we hope you enjoy what we've built!
As a remote worker, there are critical factors like tools, transparency, benefits, management, and career progression that make or break a remote career; none of the ratings websites account for these or care about them, until now...
Our team believes in and thrives on remote work; we collaborate async in five time-zones and four languages! We were frustrated that places like Glassdoor don't consider the factors that determine whether or not a company is truly effective at running remotely. So we built something that does!
We believe that with more information about workplace transparency, remote tech stacks, remote leadership and company benefits, we can empower people around the world to advance their careers on their own terms.
We built RemoteRated to help people have great experiences as remote contributors by showing them which companies are great and which are not.
This is just the first step on our journey here! We have many planned updates and upgrades, and we would love to hear from you on what you'd like to see improved, changed, or added!
If you like what we've done here, we'd be enormously grateful for you to share it on Twitter or LinkedIn, and tag a company that you believe deserves recognition as a RemoteRated company!
