ReNett is a place for asynchronous group video messaging in communities. Think Reddit meets Snapchat. The new product includes a mobile app for video communication in communities ReNett and a video commentary plugin for websites ReCommentt.

@elazer_development thank you and Happy New Year to you, too)
oh, we have great plans for next year: AR-masks; non-public communities and topics; opportunity to embed topics into a personal website or blog and many other features, and plugin full release.

@elazer_development Hi too! Thank you for your question!) So why we do this idea - I think because we often do not have enough time to communicate in real-time )

@elazer_development For me it was just like realising that I spend a lot of time participating online meetings with the team and most of the time 2 persons were talking and others were listening and answer only true/false questions once in 10 minutes. I just thought that we can save a lot of time doing such things asynchronously. This idea came up in the different departments of our team by different reasons. I think async communication is the future but it needs to be redesigned. We are still looking for feedback and good ideas to make this part of our lives better because we are still looking for the best solutions for better communication experience.

@elazer_development We like the idea of bringing people together on a common topic in a video format. We understood that the video trend has long been in our lives. We are developing our product and are ready to surprise you in 2022! Happy New Year!

@nataliya_kotlova1 As an Android Engineer that has been in the AR Mobile App space since 2016, I was wondering if you are able to expand more on the plans for "AR-masks". How does the company plan to disrupt this space esp when there are existing masks out there with well established mobile apps such as Instagram and Snapchat?

Looks super interesting! What would you say is the main value people can get specifically from your platform vs other video chat platforms?

@rachel_levitz Thank you Rachel! We see our value in asynchronous communication, not in real time. And our UX designer and developer carefully worked on discussion threads in topics. So that it would be convenient for users to follow the entire conversation at any time.
@rachel_levitz Hello, Rachel! Thanks for your support and question. I'd like to add that as for me the main difference is our focus on communities but not only topics or spheres of interest. In our future releases we plan to add private communities and channels and cover more use-cases.

@rachel_levitz The main thing is a new experience of video communication in groups with people from all over the world

Congratulate you guys for launching on Product Hunts! I’ve been using ReNett for about two months. And I like it) there are some issues to fix, but I really like the idea of communities. Keep going! Do you plan to add any other language in the app?

Maker
@victoriajones Thank you! I am glad that you like the product and you use it! Yep, now we have a 2 language (eng, rus) but then we're going to add more! Which language you prefer?
Hi, I have created my community in Renett and I like to be in the early stages. I like the very concept of communicating in groups by video, but sometimes it's inconvenient, especially when you want to respond quickly. I agree that there are messengers for this, and ReNett is an unusual experience. I will follow your updates and how you are progressing in dev and marketing

@mayakzero Thank you for your kind words! We are preparing a lot of new things for you in New Year
Seems exciting, loved the product demo. My team is building an online community building platform (GoSocial.io) where you can host live events, CBCs, challenges, discussions etc. I think we might collaborate if it's possible to integrate ReNett in our communities.
I like the initiative and think there should be more products like this one; make online comments more personal → encourage people to be genuine and not behave like assholes.
That said, the (Android) app feels a bit half baked. There are small visual glitches (text getting cut off) and most of the content I see is in Russian, even though I’ve chosen English as my language. There doesn’t seem to be much content either but that’s understandable considering this is a new network.

Hi Product Hunt,
Thank you @kevin , for hunting us! My name is Pavel, I am CEO and co-founder of ReNett. And I'm proud to present our product ReNett - a mobile video forum for communities.
The idea for the app came up last year during a lockdown. Our team works remotely around the world. Due to the time zones, calling up here and now is not comfortable. And it's the same story with friends. We like to communicate in short videos. After all, video is livelier and more interesting than texting.
We did a survey and found out that we were not alone. Some people would also like to communicate via video messages in groups and communities.
That's how ReNett appeared.
ReNett is an application for video communities. Users can:
- create or join communities,
- add and discuss different topics in these communities,
- chat by shot videos asynchronously,
- invite friends or find new in the app,
- support and encourage each other with familiar emojis.
And there is "one more thing" ReCommentt, a video commenting plugin for websites. It’s for free. This plugin allows users to video comment and discuss the content on websites. As a result, websites get comments and feedback, and the app users get topics for discussion. Everyone is happy!
My team and I will be very excited if you join early Renett users!
Feel free to share feedback and ask your questions; I will be happy to answer.
Sincerely,
Pavel
