Hey Product Hunters! I’m Guglielmo (but you can call me Schena), Co founder of Rita Personal Data and I’m really happy to introduce you to our new app. 🙋 Wanna know our story? 🙋 My co-founder @john_arts and I have always been fascinated by data. Once the GDPR and the others privacy laws came out we were looking forward to seeing which data companies had on us. The problem was that it’s extremely hard for non-technicals to see their data and even harder to do something about it. We felt that the users didn’t truly own their data and could do little about it. So many headaches in understanding Facebook privacy settings or to ask access to our data to companies. Who had our data? How was that being used? What does data look like? That’s why we created the Rita app to give any user ownership of its data. With Rita you can collect, view and control your data. Smoothly and in total privacy. ❤️ ✨ What are our features? ✨ Basic Collect your Google and Facebook data in minutes View your data in an intuitive dashboard Ask companies you don’t like, to remove your data Unsubscribe from annoying emails in seconds Remove the ad topics or companies that annoy you around the web and social media (still in Beta) Advanced Rita will take care and manage the deletion email requests for you (still in Beta) Rita will update you in case of any request status change Unsubscribe from all emails in two clicks Ask to delete data from all companies in two clicks Privacy is why we built Rita, that is why we don’t want and can’t see the data collected by users as it’s stored and processed on the device, so you are sure that your data never leaves your phone and doesn’t reach our servers. 🤔 What do people use Rita for? 🤔 - To view their data anytime - To understand what happens behind the scenes - To execute their GDPR rights smoothly - To manage how they are target and their online experience - To save time and enhance their privacy choices - To own their data 🙌 Let us know what you think 🙌 The positive response from our users has been heartening so far. We are really excited to see what you think, leave a comment below, join us on Telegram ( https://t.me/joinchat/G4Avwg8-jh... ) or reach out to me directly at g.schenardi@ritapersonaldata.com or john@ritapersonaldata.com Data is yours, own it.

Jim Bleys
Amazing application with great user experience, a pioneer in ownership of data ! One Question: How are you calculating my data value?
John Arts
@jim_bleys Thank you Jim! The estimation is based on the amount of ads you've clicked and the estimated cost per click of that ad. So essentially we're showing you how much money Facebook and Google have earned from you :))

I think this is a very useful service! But I don't quite understand how Rita handles the data she collects - do you somehow process it?
John Arts
@alxvok Hi Alex, thanks for your kind words! 😊 We don't process any data on our systems. All your collected data is processed locally on your device! Once the data is collected, some computations are done to present you with your dashboard. The only data we store is the email you use to sign up on Rita. The local processing is important to us, because we maintain users' privacy and give you full ownership.
Ivanna Wendel

@ivanna_wendel Thanks Ivanna!

Very intuitive UI, it will make social data understandable for non tech people! It's a great app with a lot of potential in a world where consumer data is becoming increasingly important for businesses
Guglielmo Schenardi
@emiliozanetti Thanks a lot Emilio, we had in mind non tech people when we started and we are glad we are getting there

?makers: Cool app, guys. One thing is, your in-app privacy policy was last updated on Feb 15,2021. The one on the webiste - on Nov 30,2020. So which one am I accepting? Pls. invest some time in working with decent lawyers to polich the ToS and PP. For an app like this, legal docs should be perfect.
John Arts
@vasgo Thank you for this Vas! Community comments on the Privacy Policy are very important to us. The in-app policy is the one you're accepting. We worked hard on getting the Mobile Version right. Here's a Blog piece of the steps we went through to design it. https://ritapersonaldata.medium.... We'll be updating the Website's Privacy Policy, should be updated in the next hour, great catch! 💯Let us know how the testing goes! Have you seen your data dashboards yet? 👀🔥👀
John Arts
@vasgo Updated!
