šŸ‘‹ Hello Product Hunters! I bet everyone here is in one of two camps: • You have a unique, distinctive name that almost everyone mispronounces. • You've horribly mangled someone else's beautiful name in a meeting, on a podcast, or in an interview. I built Say My Name to solve this problem. My hope is to have a single source for the proper pronunciation of everyone's names. Yes, there are some existing solutions to this problem. However, most of them are outdated and use generic pronunciations or robotic voices. Say My Name lets everyone record the proper pronunciation of their name in their own voice. They can even add a fun story about the history of their name and the trials and tribulations they've had with it. The next time you're going to join a meeting, introduce someone in a speech, or maybe meet your future in-laws, take the time to learn how to pronounce their name properly. Their name was their very first gift. Treat it with respect. I'm very excited to be launching Say My Name here today and looking forward to all your support and feedback šŸ™. https://SayMyName.how/Justin-Noel

@calendee Cool one, are you planning to integrate AI as well? Congrats!
Justin Noel
@tornike_tsiramua1 At this point, I don't have any plans to. What kind of AI features would you suggest adding to this?
Justin Noel
@appxcite Actually, there are a few variations of this already out there. However, most of them are outdated or have generic pronunciations. some even have really bad robotic sounding voices.

Interesting! Congrats on the launch!

I love that you addressed bias in hiring! That's such an important cause. I don't like the fact that I have to sign up, and I'm not sure why do you need my backup email, I'd def think about cutting down the number of steps - so there's some room for UX improvements. Hope that helps, and congrats on the launch! Best, Nevada :D
Justin Noel
@nevena_sofranic Thanks so much for the feedback, Nevena. The backup email is optional and is just a way to recover your account if you lose access to your primary email. Some people still use their work email for signing up for stuff 😬 or an ISP email address. If they lose their job or switch ISPs, they will lose access to many of their services. This is my first iteration of the service. I'm definitely looking for ways to improve the on-boarding process.

I appreciate the LinkedIn "how to pronounce my name" feature. It's a nice touch. :)
Justin Noel
@rrhoover Thanks for the reply, Ryan. LinkedIn and Slack do have this feature now. However, many people aren't using LinkedIn at all and definitely aren't using the pronunciation feature. My hope šŸ¤ž is to have a service that solves this problem for everyone in one spot instead of having to add their pronunciation to many places.

Love this! I stopped correcting people for my name (decided not to care about it a few years ago lol), but I really care about how I pronounce other people names, so this will be super useful. Congrats on your launch!
