What do you think? …

Alec Garcia
Heh I was about to do the same which refreshes https://www.spectacles.com/locat... and wakes me up with an alarm and calls an @Uber to the coordinates.
Moritz Kobrna
@calialec @uber nice, what an awesome idea 😂 you should build it anyway …
Tiffany Zhong
@calialec @uber auto-calls an Uber?!?! what if it's on the opposite side of the country!
Alec Garcia
@tzhongg hahaha you're right, the only reasonable thing to do is have a dynamic action based on the distance. If it's close to me, it calls an Uber, if it's a little farther away, it reserves a Zipcar (which I used to drive to the Big Sur location), else book a flight 😂
Mat Sherman
@tzhongg that's what savings accounts are for
Daniel Singer
Was going to build something similar to this with a friend tonight but I'm happy it exists. You did a great job Moritz!
Moritz Kobrna
@danielsing3r Thanks Daniel! It was also a after work / night session for me.
Honey Raj Varma
@neuling2k is there a way to reach someone near the machine to buy it for you? That would be awesome!
Moritz Kobrna
@raj_ventures not possible atm because i did not ask for any location at the signup. but its a pretty neat idea. i will think of how to do make this possible!
Moritz Kobrna
Although they will probably never deploy a Spectacles vendor machine close to me (Vienna/Austria) I thought a Snapbot notification service could be usefull for a lot of other people. Now you can stop reloading https://www.spectacles.com/map/ and enjoy the day. Snapbot Spotter takes care of checking the website every 5 minutes and will send you a notification as soon as a new Snapbot is deployed. Cheers, Mo
Jack Dweck
Now I can stop refreshing the Spectacles map every 5 seconds. Thanks @neuling2k! 🙌
Justin Clegg
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that NO one is wearing a shirt on the spectacles homepage?
Evan Aumack
@cleggskie Hadn't noticed until you pointed it out. They really want to draw your attention to those glasses. Either that or Spectacles are aimed at an entirely different market than most thought.
Justin Clegg
@evanaumack As my friend @jregb put it, it sort of reinforces the stereotype they’re trying to avoid right?
Pranav Divakar
@neuling2k Awesome stuff! Tiny suggestion, It would have been better if you could notify us over a Tweet than email :) 1. It will help you spread the word in social media 2. People are more comfortable with Twitter than email
Peter Frank
Awesome. Would be sweet to hook up a Twilio long-code to shoot a text with the coordinates.
