Hey there, The story of Sprout started at the beginning of 2020, when it felt like the world became a sea of islands. Since then, our days were sectioned into a stream of meeting blocks and a grid of video feed. Somewhere between them, I had to grapple with the loss of connection with people I care about. It’s not just about seeing or hearing each other; I miss the feeling of being present in the same space. I miss how much we could do in person. Not just to work, but to have fun, feel comfortable to catch up with each other, and don't feel restricted in front of the window. It could've been so much more than what we've had, right? We made Sprout as a slice of what we think being together online can be. We've been looking at it by ourselves for so long, and I'm so excited to share it with you. I hope you can invite some of your favorite people and try out Sprout together, and that you're able to get some enjoyable moment out of it. – Aosheng ❤️

👋🏽 I’m Weiwei, one of the makers behind Sprout. To share a little more of our intention -- we want to create shared spaces that celebrates and respects how we come together for work and social occasions. Sprout is a space where we can share our attention, presence, while working with all kinds of 'staple' media type. Nowadays, we often find ourselves toggling between apps and telling each other to jump over to see the same materials. For our first public release, we are bundling together images, text, video/audio call, and web pages to a shared canvas. These spaces are also persistent so you can pick up right where you left off and continue the conversation. Thanks for your up-vote. And here's to more fun work and play time! — ☀️🌱

We're really eager to introduce some of the more frequently requested features such as screen sharing and better permission controls. On the more fun side (*cough* clearly I'm not biased), we will also be adding more templates, better UI for styling, a range of dynamic block types, and more 🍯

I've been using Sprout for a couple months now. Like everyone, I've been stuck embracing video chats for basically everything the last couple years, but Sprout... it's just such a breath of fresh air. Like, really. It's hard not to feel more creative and a little less trapped in a box — metaphorically and *literally* in a box, on screen — when you're in a call on Sprout. Big fan of Sprout now and the direction they're heading. I think y'all might like it too. :) Congrats on the launch, Sprout!

I am thrilled to see Sprout launch. I have been lucky enough to have a chance to use this and provide some initial feedback over the last few months. It has been amazing to see it evolve so quickly. Sprout transforms how I think about a shared workspace or a video call. It encourages creativity, collaboration, freedom, but more than anything else it is simply delightful to use. I challenge everyone to grab a friend (or several), try it out, and make it 5 minutes without laughing out loud. Congrats to the entire Sprout team for the launch, I can't wait to see what comes next.
