I built Streakoid because I’ve struggled to be consistent throughout my life. I’ve tried to improve in a variety of interests. Achieving little because I haven’t been consistent with my practice. I knew I had to practice every day to get better, but I’d always find an excuse not to.  I would start a new interest all guns blazing but would lose my drive after a honeymoon period. I’d stop when things got tough.  A familiar feeling of regret in a few months that would start the cycle again. When I ask users “Do you struggle with being consistent?” they have all answered yes. Then I ask them: “Do you want to be more consistent?” and they all say yes.  We want to be more consistent. But being consistent isn’t sexy. Habit trackers and diaries exist to track what you are doing. But using them is tedious. Once you miss one day, it’s likely you’ll forget about them. Most diaries can’t remind you to submit an entry. If you use a diary, it’s difficult to analyse a diary. What makes Streakoid different is that it is the first app that allows users to define group tasks for any activity that you or you and your friends can complete. When trying to be consistent, people try to use other people to be accountable to. However, tracking your friends is a complex task. Even if your friend keeps up, there will be a day where one of you doesn’t feel like it. Which leads to the breakdown of both of you doing the task. You end up trying to improve in isolation. Doing something by yourself is lonely. Isolation kills growth.  All it takes is one bad day. This then snowballs into two days, three days and then a week. Before you know it, it’s been a month. Streakoid is different because it changes being consistent from an individual activity to a social activity. It makes you accountable to the app and your friends.  It makes the logging and analyzing of your data easy. Providing insights about yourself and your friends that otherwise are not possible. Streakoid makes something people dread - being consistent, a fun activity. Using Streakoid you’ll become better at what you’re doing, have more shared experiences with friends, and understand yourself and your friends better. People trying to be more consistent run into the same problems. Too busy: Life takes over if you don’t define the tasks you want to do. Streakoid lets you define the tasks you want to complete each day. From yoga, baking to candlestick making.  . Too tired: The day will come when you’re tired to do 30 minutes of knitting you promised yourself. Knowing that you will lose the 45 day streak you’ve worked hard for if you don’t knit you’ll put down the TV remote and knit that scarf. No one to do it with: Finding someone to do something with is difficult. It’s awkward to ask people about their personal lives: “Hey are you into underwater hockey?”. Streakoid lets you see what your friends are doing: Maybe you’ll discover you and Dave both love the ukulele. Streakoid will let you do a group streak for daily ukulele practice. The world’s not as lonely as place as you thought. No idea what to do: Streakoid can analyse what other people similar to you are doing to give you recommendations for activities to improve your life. No more option paralysis. Friends don’t want to do anything positive: Streakoid encourages you to form better relationships with your current friends by pursuing daily commitments together. Instead of just drinking together, you can compete to see who can maintain the longest streak of rock climbing each day. Giving you more to talk about - you could all go on a bouldering trip. No grasp of what they’ve already done: Trying to remember if you have done something a week ago is a recipe for disaster. To track over time, you must write things down. But remembering to write things down is a difficult task. Keeping a diary is pain. Sharing these diaries or accessing other people’s diaries isn’t likely to happen either. Streakoid tracks, analyses and presents your activity with just a click of a button. Allowing you to see your own and your friends data. Streakoid gives you a chance to be happy with your progress this decade.
