Hi Product Hunters! 👋My name is Carter Adams, I’m the founder of Taplo. Earlier this year, I came across a couple of social proof plugins on Product Hunt that caught my eye. However, I realized these products lacked the customization I wanted—so I decided to make my own! Taplo is catered towards SaaS founders using Stripe for payments. Integrating with Taplo is simple—just 1) create a project, 2) add your Stripe/Google Analytics API key, 3) customize your styling, and 4) embed 2 lines of HTML in your project. The notifications will begin displaying automatically after that! This is my first launch ever, so I am eager to hear everyone’s feedback. Please let me know what you think!💫

Nice! Congrats @cladams7905 on the launch! My 2¢, please assist users with setup guides that work with Google Tag Manager.

@siddharthpereiras really appreciate the advice! I’ll definitely try and do this

Hey Carter! It’s really useful. Social proof and reviews became keys to increase conversion rates and you’re helping a lot with this. Really congrats

@german_merlo1 thank you so much!

Congrats on the launch, looks really great! I also like that you are using it on your own website. Nothing better than eating your own dogfood. Couple of questions: - can I use restricted API keys in Stripe? I'm always reluctant to give full acces to my Stripe account - it says API access in the Pro Plan, but I can't really find on the website what that means - is it registering Stripe webhooks? or polling data? does it interfere with an existing setup? - is it possible to set up an integration once and then re-use it, or do you have to put in the API key for every event you configure?
Carter Adams
@nickvanderhoven Hi Nick, thanks for the questions! - yes, you can definitely configure restricted API keys. That’s how I have it set up for mine and encourage users to configure it this way in the docs - for API access, I am still in the process of building out this feature, but I am hoping to give pro users the ability to access API endpoints that retrieve clicks/ impressions on Taplo notifications. This is still in the works, I’m open for suggestions! - currently it’s not using stripe webhooks, it just pulls data from a couple different stripe endpoints. It shouldn’t interfere with any existing setups! - once you set up one integration, you can just use it for all your other events. No need to recreate it for each event!

@cladams7905 all the answers I was hoping for! I'mma follow seeing Taplo evolve, think you're gonna be crushing it

You made me think about integrating social proof into our landing page to increase conversion (I hadn't thought of that tbh). Thanks for that! And I really like the UI of the product. About the video: I would have liked a quick explanation and demo of the problem + solution first to understand why it's relevant to me and what we are going to do in the video. (I jumped right into the video, but wasn't sure what the project setup was about, because I didn't really understand that we wanted to set up the widget). Congrats on the launch @cladams7905 🎉
Carter Adams
@juliangoetze thanks Julian, I definitely should have talked a little bit about the problem space in the video😅 really appreciate the advice!

oo I like this, we need something like this for our offers on the website. I have a question, what was your thought behind creating this product?
Carter Adams
@viorica_vanica I had come across similar plugins like this, but a lot of them didn’t seem to be made for stripe platforms! So I decided to make my own :)

Social proof and reviews are important for all launches. Seems interesting!
