The application can be used for free, but you need a (paid) OpenAI account. This allows you to activate usage-based billing with your own API key.

A big benefit of using your API key is that you only pay for what you use, which is much cheaper than a ChatGPT Plus subscription ($20/month). Also, you can use your API key in any of the apps that support this. (find out more apps: https://medium.com/p/4fd6845a0b2b).
